Compressed NDS roms (future release?)

Do anybody knows if the compressed NDS rom support is planned for a future version?, because I would love to be able to fit more games into my cart (I know only roms smaller than 32 MB can be compressed) I wouldn't mind a minute of loading, if I can put more games.

i'd like to c such a release too

even tho i dont think its possible

It has to do with the fact DS games run straight from the CF/SD Card. Since it does that, it would have no where to decompress itself to as there would not be enough ram. Also, it can't decompress as you go as it would cause major slowdowns.

So in case of this, the only option would to decompress the DS games to the CF/SD Card and play automatically, but that would just lead to more trouble then it is worth.

I think what he meant was to load compressed roms from the SD/CF to the 32megs on the supercard. SO it would only work for roms that are smaller then 32MB to start with. I personally wouldnt care for that as it would take too long to decrompress and load the roms on the sc, I hate having to wait to play gba games already.

Yeah, I meant ROMs smaller than 32mb, althought I hate loading times, being able to have more would be great. Also, it will be optional, so it's up to you to use it or not.

hardly possible, like MAD2X allready said, ds roms run directly from cf/sd and not from sc ram like gba roms, you gotta decompress in order to run, gba roms work that way, only they have enough ram to decompress to unlike ds roms, you would need at least 128MB ram on SC for that, so i can pretty much say forget about it, the rom trimmer is the best we got for now.
SC CF + 1GB Kingston CF + flashed NDS = a whole lot of fun.

As I said before: I know that a los of ROMs won't fit on the SC ram. I am only talking about games smaller than 32 MB.

Now about the "impossible to run from the ram" I am afraid to mention that it is really possible, so real, that you may be using it already. The so called "Supercard" rom position is nothing more than a "Run from SC RAM" So what I am asking is: Enable to compress ROMs smaller than 32 MB. It is possible, but I think Romman hasn't added it, because the load times, but I bet a lot of people will like that (especially people that have 128 or 256 memories, and don't care much for an extra minute of loading)

Yeah I totally beleive it would be really possible, we can do it with GBA roms, why not for DS roms under 32MB's? It's something Romman should implement in the next software release. When you select compress it would automatically change to SC postition.
