ds roms arent saving.. any idea why?

some of my ds roms no longer save. ill go into digdug or nanostray, etc and then when i go back to it later they still say "new file". like it didnt save any of my progress. and not only that, SOME of my roms save just fine. and wahts weird is pac pix for example, USED to save, but now it doesnt. everytime i start it im still on level 2, even though i have gotten past it several times. i just "quick formated" my CF card and copied all my files back, and it still does this. any idea why? i dont know what to do. thanks in advance.

edit: btw, i have the newest sc firmware (1.60), and im using 2.51 software, and i have flashme v6.

Make sure your saves are not set read-only. (Right-click -> properties.)

i got the same problem some roms are saving

one isnt :x

Wow that is realy weird that they use to save but now doesnt. I dont realy know what the problem is. mabey they screwed up on the conversion softwear, you should try a older version and see if thats the problem. mabey its just a problem with the rom that when it gets to a place it just doest save.

yeah this totally sucks.... i just went through all my roms that are currently on my CF card, and only TWO saved, meteos, and ridge racer, then i went back into them both to see if they were still saved and meteos said "cannot save must format save" or some shit... yoshis touch and go did something like that as well. but ridge racer saved. thats the only one that would save..... im going to spend all day messing with this till i figure it out. and suggestions would be great. thanks

ok... well ive been messing with this all day.. i formatted my CF then put one of the roms that wouldnt save b4 on it and nothing else. the roms saved just fine. so i tested in a few more times. and it saved every time. so THEN i copied a few more over... they also worked. so then i copied all my roms back..... and now some of them save... and some of them dont... castlevania wouldnt save.. and NOW i go into it and it freezes at the part where it tells the story after u start a new game. and nanostray randomly froze a few times.... i didnt have either one of these problems the other day. if anyone has any idea what could be wrong. please let me know. is my supercad dying? cf dying? both ive had for a little over a year. im going to re-do the sc firmware and see if that does anything.

I guess, try removing the rom one by one to find which rom causes you the problem. Maybe you just have a bad rom.

Also did your CF card had any space left because i've read in the forum that you must have at least have 10% of your CF card size free.

yeah im aware of the 10% thing, which is why i tried just ONE rom on my CF card and then slowly added more. and im positive the roms arent corrupt, but i AM coming to a conclusion after about 11 hours of testing and narrowing things down.... ugh... one boring day off. bbl with results.

ok.... well i finally came up with a theory. i flashed my SC with the 1.60 firmware AGAIN, and then copied my roms over and went through them. most of them worked and saved fine right off the bat. but some wouldnt save no matter what.. but at least now the ones that DID and DIDNT save were constant... none of them just stopped working or freezing. and then i remembered that while constantly going through my roms today testing them to see if they were saving, i noticed that in my saved data of METEOS that it was saving how many times i played a certain part of whatever, but where it said "times powered on" it still said "1"... so i thought maybe the SC was messing up my saved filed, cus it would sometimes load some, then other times not at all. its all i could come up with...so ANYWAY after putting 1.60 firmware on there again i decided to make NEW save files for the roms that were still not working, and then i copied them over and sure enough they worked, there was no problem with the roms themselves. so im ASSUMING that for some reason or another the SC started ruining my saved files that WERE at one point working just fine. im sure this info wont help anyone, but all i can say is that if anyone else out there has any weird saving problems with SC like i did, b4 u do anything, just re-flash SC with the newest firmware and then try replacing any saved files that dont seem to be saving with brand new ones.

...Or get other releases of the game. I had USA release of Nanostray. It didn't save. I tryed with European one and it works fine.
