My supercard was working now whenever I powerup the GBA SP the gameboy logo appears however the Nintendo wording is all garbled.

I've tried to clean the contact, reformat etc. Is the supercard bad?

I think I know what you mean. It happens to me too when I try to boot a GBA title in NDS mode, it freezes with a garbled line of text. But all GBA titles works totally fine when I go into plain GBA mode.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

I must admit I'm not familiar with NDS mode as compared to GBA mode. Could you explain or point me in the right direction.

My setup is a GBA SP with a CF Supercard.

Any help would be great.

The new SC firmware auto loads to the nds mode if you have flashme installed. But if your not using a ds you don't have to worry about that because your only option is gba mode.  If you have a nds without flashme you would need a passme device to get into nds mode.  Nds mode is where the SC can reconize .nds files and run them.  Also with the new SC firmware .gba files are able to be reconized and ran in nds mode.

check the words----> GBA SP
no ds mode whatsoever

ah well, the gabled text means the data is coming though just like you see it. garbled.
I've always fixed mine with cleaning the contacts, on the gba too.
just blowing in both ends should be enough but you can be a bit more agressive and use some cleaning stuff. it doesn't matter much just get them clean.
