ok peeps can some body just do me a favor,ok right-  take a gameboy micro advance and a supercard WITHOUT an sd card in it,now plug it in to the micro and turn it on. o.k. now after the little nintendo load up bit, does the screen prompt you to put in a sd card.please note i do have sd cards so please dont ask me or say that i need to put one in,just please let me know what the screen says......i just so need to know.

I haven't got GB Micro but I've got a DS. It says "There is no Game Pak inserted". If GB Micro works like DS, I think it will show white screen or "GAME BOY" logo.

Holmfry

That's correct, I just tried it with my Micro, and it shows the gameboy logo.  The word "Nintendo" does NOT appear at the bottom, and it just stays that way.

CodFather

Yep - with firmware 1.60 on the supercard and no SD, the GBM boots up, displays the word GAMEBOY then effectively freezes.

Thanx everyone ,so far so good,
now if  micro users only could do me another favor(dont want much do i!),now put a FAT formatted sd card in the supercard WITH NO FILES ON WHATSOEVER plug it in the micro ,now tell me what happens...i just so need to know!

richardv

I get an empty Supercard Menu
ilver DS>White DSLite>Black GBA Micro>SCSD>SCLite>DSLink>4GB Transcend sd>2GB Patriot sd>512 MB Sandisk microsd>1 GB Sandisk microsd

CodFather

Yep - same here. Empty Supercard menu.

ok thanks peeps, only wish i could say i got an empty supercard menu this is just giving me a brain bleed! mine still freezes up on the gameboy logo-do think i have crap sd card ?it is a viking interworks 512mb and works fine on my camera etc.or do you reckon my micro has something in its own software refusing it and if so how could i amend it?maybe a firmware flash to turn it into an old gameboy advance or something,i just do dont know what next!!....any answers im desperate and will be needing padded walls and a straight jacket if i cant get this to work!!!

bitblt

Sorry, I don't give straight answers.  I've read some posts of people inserting the SD at a slight angle to get things working.  Also try cleaning all the SD and GBA slot contacts.  Something could have gone wrong with your supercard firmware (static discharge?).  If you have access to a DS, and nothing is physically wrong with your supercard, you could try re-flashing the supercard firmware with WiFiMe and DF's flashmp.

CodFather

Believe it or not buttons, I use exactly the same card with my GBM. Ebuyer per chance?

Anyway, mine works fine. Are you definitely formatting it to FAT16? The Supercard will not recognise an SD card formatted to FAT32.
ello and Happy to everyone.

Haoie

Ah yes, that's right, it was specifically stated that 32 format won't work.

Hardware sure can be fickle, and I've read some pretty bad things about SC with GBM.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

buttons

yes i formatted it to just FAT like it said to do and all that ,but still no tears of joy, just of anger and frustration!i am going to have to reluctantly send it back...thanks for all yalls help for now especially those who done the little tests for me....laters.
