ok, from what I understand, when a GBA game is selected, the supercard loads this into its Ram and plays it from there.

and, when using the compression feature, the supercard decompresses the rom before putting it into the ram, right?

if this is true, then if a game works fine on the supercard, will selecting the compression feature effect the GBA games preformance at all?

thanks in advance.

side note: i just got the supercard yesterday, and im lovin it ^_^

ekolimits

there are no side effects other then longer loading times...
Not that i know of any... compressing is what i do to all my roms.
saves lots of space!

The official SC site states that compression slows down loading by 30%, but I didn't notice much of a difference.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

karurosu

There is not a really big diff, but in big games it can be boring to wait >.<

Thanks, i don't mind waiting longer for the game to open, I was reffering more to the in game preformance.

The reason it doesn't affect performance outside of load time is that it's only compressed on the memory card. It decompresses the game, loads it into the Supercard's own flash memory to play, and then plays like normal.

No effect on game performance whatsoever. Just the initial loading time can be painfully long for 256M games.
