How long NDS Will last? (Your Opinion)

well you know what's going on these days
game life cycle is not like the old days...

for me i'm not really surprised if 2 years later Nintendo will came up w/ new Console/handheld.

as you all may know the NDS it self only powered by 66Mhz procesor wich can be troubled for latest gaming in the future...

may I know your opinion?

I say about another 3 years. As long as the DS is sitting firmly at the top of the handheld war, they are gonna continue to support it

Yes but now DS is taking place of GBA slowly, just like GBA did to GBC..

I think this year is going to be the peak year for DS, and I expect it's popularity (and game releases) to ramp down over the next 4 years. Just like the GB/GBC/GBA the DS should have special interest groups for decades.

average lifespan is about 5 years, that would mean we'll probably have another 3 and a half years easy with a few more games coming out after the sequel is released.

Hmm, two years will be soon over now and I think the redesign was the biggest decission that would be made. Even with its "slow" cpus it offers good, great games, especially with wifi support, biggest advantage.

The problem is when the NDS was first presented it was always said it is NOT a gameboy. Not a new gb in line. So the question is, will there be by the end of next year maybe a new 'normal' GameBoy with better internals?

Micro$hit will VERY probably do as they ALWAYS did and COPY the DS concept. Then they will spend BILLIONS of dollars shuffling it down everyone's throats as they always do. This could be shortly after the PS3 launch so that M$ has a "surprise" weapon to fight it off. Meanwhile Nintendo will be developing something even more fun than dual screen touch wireless. Miyamoto is the man. And it will be released to KO PSP and Microsoft's new toy once ald for all.

PS: I do realize about the "origami" project but that's not what I'm talking about. Origami will probably die very soon. As a gaming device at least.
