does the passcard2 work with supercard?

bitblt

Yes, passcard2=superpass2=passme2 and passcard=superpass=passme, for the most part.

mwingboy

o ok...i was just making sure because this website says something "not supercard" i couldnt tell if they meant a special feature or it didnt work in general

sneef

they're just being gay.

what they should explain is that it WILL work with supercard, just not "automatically".  there's no battery backed sram in supercard, so you have to run the little gba file that corresponds to whatever DS game they used in the passcard2.  you can get the files from darkfader's site.  When SRAM is written, just reboot with the passcard in place, and you will get into the supercard menu.

UNLESS g6/m3 just don't tell you which commercial game they used.. but there are other ways around it.

and anyway, once you flash your DS you won't need to use the passcard on a regular basis.

in summary: what they should have said is that it is "plug and play"  (pretty much) with cards that have stable batterybacked SRAM.  But that it still works with supercard.

Of course, I'm basing this on how all other passthrough devices work, especially the passme 2-z (which i have) because I'm assuming the passcard is made the same way.

mwingboy

ooo you have passme 2-z?? is that confusing to use? should i just get the passkey?? (im not gonna flash it)

with passme 2-z (i have new firmware need passkey/me2) what do you have to everytime you want to use it

are there ANY plug and play pass devices for supercard (other than superpass)

sneef

Passme 2-z is great.  But with supercard, you're always going to have to get the correct sav file in SRAM, and because there's no internal battery, you will always have to run a small app before booting into DS mode.  This is unavoidable if you have a newer firmware DS.  Mine is a DS Lite, so I have no choice too.

but I recently flashed my lite with the beta flashme_lite.  it works great, and now my passme 2-z just sits in my DS case feeling unwanted. lol.

mwingboy

lol...thanks all the info i really need...i might just get an m3..."might"

you could just sell your passme2z

sneef

I could sell it, but it's so NICE.  i just don't want to sell it, just in case.. :)

I know the pulling in and out of the Superpass2 drove a friend of mine crazy...he's in a mental hospital now, .... no just kidding, but I couldn't believe how inconvenient the Superpass2 was compared to Superpass1. Is this irritating in and out pulling also the case with all the other 'passes'?

But I'd really like to know just one thing before I buy. Do you have to push in/pull out the passme 2 also, just as the irritating Superpass2? Or can you just turn on the DS and immediately play your game? Sorry for being a bit confused...

Yes, Now all passme card need push in/pull out. But it is not irritating, trust me. Just some simple steps. If you do not believe me, you can ask my custom. And I can help you. Following steps as quick as possible. It just takes 1 min in this process.

lu_pp - seeing as most people on this board already have a supercard why don't you try selling the Passme 2-z separately?

If you can compete on price with the guys selling the passcard mentioned in this thread then I would probably go for your one as you're in the UK and would be able to ship a lot cheaper.. to be honest I'm actually considering to order a few of these Passcard 2 from the European site and reselling them to spread the shipping cost a bit and there seems to be a bit of demand for them at the moment so I don't think it would be too difficult to sell a couple of extra ones on

In fact, the Passcard 2 on that site seems to be almost square and possibly the exact size of a DS card which would be even nicer than a 2-z - but it might just be the angle of the picture (could have done with a side-by-side comparison).. plus they would have probably promoted it better if it was the same size as a DS cart
