do you HAVE TO HAVE a superpass2 in order  to flash your ds lite?

would superpass 1 suffice?  Also, will the ds lite be $130 in US just ilke in Japan? Anyone know release dates?

You HAVE to have a passme2 device to flash it.  Unless you build a cheaptag programmer (instructions on dspassme.com) and convert your superpass into a passme 2 type device.. but I think the superpass' CPLD program pinout is different than the generic passme pinout.  You should check first.

It will not be $130.  some people are saying 179, but I'm fairly sure it will be closer to 150 (for the system itself).

Release date:  The original concensus was May.  New Super Mario Bros was also slated for May.  Then mario bros got pushed to june 17 (or something like that) and mysteriously, all the release dates for ds lite accessories (at online retailers) got switched to june recently.  It looks like they are planning a concurrent release of the DS Lite with New Super Mario Bros.  This isn't confirmed, but it would point to a mid-june launch for DS Lite.
