Just found this posted over at maxconsole....

²Û   This little tool lets you convert Action Replay MAX DS Savegames to the   Û

²Û                    Supercard format. This is version 1.0.                   Û

²Û                                                                             Û

²Û   You will need to use Supercard convert software to make a savegame file   Û

²Û    for the game, then play the game once, and save it. Afterwards you can   Û

²Û                       use that savegame in this tool.                       Û

²Û                                                                             Û

²Û   Usage:                                                                    Û

²Û                                                                             Û

²Û   Windows: ds_save.exe [supercard save] [ar max save] [output save]         Û

²Û   Linux  : Compile the program;                                             Û

²Û            ./ds_save [supercard save] [ar max save] [output save]           Û

²Û                                                                             Û

²Û   The only save file we found so far was for Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow,   Û

²Û   and it works well with this converter. If more save files are available,  Û

²Û  and it appears that the tool doesn't work with them, we will release a new Û

²Û                              version. Have fun!                             Û

I don't really see the point... If you already have a Supercard (and presumably a Superpass if you want a DS save game) then why not just use Rain, that backs up the save from your real game cart to your Supercard and you just rename it. No converting or having to make a game and saving once nonsense. Only thing I could see this for is people who can't work homebrew cause they don't get the whole .nds.gba thing.

Unless Action Reply can edit DS save games for cheats and stuff, but I haven't heard anything about that.

Because you can download saves specifically for the Action Replay which do not work on the Supercard unless converted - so if you are looking for a save for a specific game and can only find an Action Replay version you would need this tool. Presumably people look for saves because they want an already compelted game, items unlocked, etc. If they play the game themselves, then no, they would not need this, but if they are looking for someone else's save, then yes, you need to convert the save in order to use it.

Hmm i can't get rain saves to  work on the SCSD ? so how do you make them work ?

Last I checked, I think this functionality was built into the ar pc program distributed with the device, so this is completely worthless.

From what I saw those AR savs are just the raw SRAM with some header stuck on the top of it. Downloaded a save and removed that header and it works fine on my SC.

Hi there I got a Action Replay for the DS of mine I download the Action Replay save on my desktop. How do you remove the header from the save? Then do I patch It with the super card sd software onto my super card sd version? And Is there any converting Involved? Please help as I have never done this before thanks.

the first 500 bytes is the header. hex edit and cut this data off. with supercard, dont worry about making the save 256K, just make sure that it is one of the multiples of proper save sizes (512bytes, 8192bytes, 16384bytes, 32768bytes, 65536bytes), rename the save to the same as the one made by the supercard patcher and away you go.

Alternately, you could use the above tool or my max2sc (link) app to directly convert a .dss or .duc files to a 256K supercard file that need only be renamed. Note, you have to decompress files that arent .dss or .duc already from within the ARmax PC software before you have the raw save data.

I've been using cory1492's tool to do this for a while now. It's great!  8)
