Got my miniSD supercard today.

It works GREAT!!!  I am seriously impressed by the build quality.  I know this would upset many m3 fans, but this cart is much better built than the m3 MiniSD.  I have that cart too, so I can compare.  Too bad the supercard is still using the same hynix ram.  it looks the same, anyway, but I havent really tested the "slowdown" GBA roms yet.

anyway, I am really impressed. fits perfect, like an original cart, and the spring mechanism on the miniSD feels a lot better than the m3 miniSD.

great piece of equipment!

Argh I want one too  :x  :x  Umm... Can you just try Mario And Luigi Superstar Saga sometime ?

sneef

i'll try tonight.. i'm almost 100% sure that it's the same though.. romman team are business people, and I'm sure they would have made a big deal about it if they had improved the GBA performance.

:)

I guess everyone is longing for the gba side news

By the way, is the interface different or same as other sc's?

And can you compare the battery life usage with other sc's? I'm quite wondering, thanks for the mini review :)

One thing I want to know...is did it work straight away, or did it need programming with the SuperPass 2 initially.  In the specs it says that it needs to use the superpass2 once only...this has always confused me and still uptil now has deterred me from wanting to purchase one...

sneef

it is exactly the same as supercard SD.  The part about "programming it once" has to do with the sram data for superpass2.  with the new internal battery, the sram file (for the particular game your superpass2/passme2 is programmed to work with) will be stored in sram slot, eliminating the need to QPC every time you want to enter DS mode.

still has the same slowdown/flickering on the same games.. sorry guys.

anyway, it's still a nice piece of equipment..

What software is used with minisd? common sd soft or new one? because i didn't see any updates for minisd in their web
thanks!

sneef

as i said before, it's the exact same thing as the supercard SD.  it's just smaller, and uses miniSD.  (and has a battery)

all the firmware and software is the same as regular supercard SD

Traspler

But with the battery it should support games with RTC or not?
00t !!?

DeVS

Man I can't believe they did not change the ram. It really blows my mind that they wouldnt make the one upgrade people have been BEGGING them to make for some time now. Unbelieveable!

Not with my SCSD+2GB-150X.

I agree.  I guess GBA compatibility is not a priority for Romman, or perhaps a ram upgrade would require a breakaway software version?  Three versions of SC software would be a management nightmare.

sneef

it all boils down to $$$.  i think that's all.

You beat me to the punch sneef. Got my Supercard MiniSD today also. I'll post my thoughts later tonight/tomorrow.

And sneef is right. It all comes down to the biggest bang for the least amount of bucks. That is what has kept the Supercard going all this time. Cheapest system for all the things you can do. I think GBA is been pushed aside... since only a small amount of games are being produced nowadays. DS games are current and out on the horizon, but I still love my GBA games.

Deadmon

Glad you guys love the miniSD, now I definitely can't wait for mine to arrive!
