Opinions of DS Lite as a Portable Media Player

I'm looking to buy a DS Lite as some of my mates will be heading over to Japan in a couple of days, and so far what's been holding me back is its abilities to play videos/audio.

A major reason as to why I want a DS Lite is because I do quite a bit of travelling on weekends, and apart from playing games it would be a huge bonus to be able to catch the occasional episode of Lost or some other show on it. So far, I know of only Moonshell that can do so, but is the quality any good? I havent had any luck in finding any video that can show me that it's of viewable standard thus far.

Also, is there any possible way to play AAC files on a DS Lite? I might have to reencode most of my files if it's not possible, which would be a huge minus  point.

Here is a Video of moonshell played with a normal DS and a SC. It would look even better with a DS Lite.

Thank you for the reply. I read somewhere on this site that animation works great for moonshell. What about life action shows? Am I able to watch an a high enough frame rate to be able to enjoy it?
