I hate that they keep updating the blasted firmware to block homebrew - and most of the updates are ONLY to block homebrew. I hate the fact that no one seems to be working on a modchip for it to fix it permanently so $ony cant touch it. I hate it because it has a bigger/better screen than my NDS. I hate it because it has an optical drive that sucks. I hate it because it used to say $ony on the corner before I replaced the faceplate. I hate it because there isnt enough time in a day. But damn! I love my portable systems, the GBA, DS and PSP. :!:

Two very good reasons to avoid PSP.

I don't hate the PSP, mainly because it OWNS for portable homebrew. (Win95 w00t)

Buy a wii or 360 instead.
I hate microsoft but I can't deny they maked a fantastic console...
Still have to see about the Wii controller but as it's nintendo it's probably gonna rock.

Last I heard, the PS3 wasn't going to cost much (if any) more then the "premium" Xbox 360s (w/ hard drive, backwards comp., etc...).  If they charged 900 bucks for any system, no one would buy it.  It wouldn't matter if the system could clean your house and wash your clothes while it cooks your dinner and plays "X" game, 900 dollars is too much and Sony knows that (actually, if my girlfriend could play PS3 games on a TV in her stomach, I'd spend 900 bucks on her, :lol:).  You're right, that was bad and I'm sorry.

As for the PSP...  I can't say that I hate it, because I don't.  Though I can tell you why the DS is better:

ScummVM on the DS (zooming kicks ass!)
First Person Shooters
Paint Programs
NitroTracker (a must for musicians)
Castlevania

I acknowledge the PS3 is going to be the most technically advanced gaming powerhouse ever conceived. I can't wait to hook this baby up to my HD2+ DLP projector.

As an owner of every system since NES besides PSP and 360, im probably the least fanboyish one can get.  I don't hate the PSP at all, and someday im definatly going to get one.  Every system has its advantages (including Ngage) and drawbacks.  I prefer the DS over PSP for several reasons though:

Better games
Better battery life and better construction
Less than half the price (when including a memory stick vs SD card)
Innovative
Touch screen
Able to buy one at the store that will run homebrew.

The two biggest factors that stop me from getting a PSP were price and availability (its not easy to find a PSP that will play homebrew outside of ebay and on ebay you pay a premium).  The touch screen on the DS is huge though.  It won't be long before the DS becomes a cheap PDA, and the ability to use the touch screen as a mouse will be huge with VNC type programs.  Yay homebrew!

As for the next generation, 360 does not impress me at all.  On a standard def television (which is all I can afford) it looks only slightly better than the original xbox and plays no better.  Plus, most of the games are available for xbox 1 as well.  It also has even less of the Japanese market than even the original xbox had meaing there won't be many japanese made games which are my favorite.  While I hate the name, the wii is something special and innovative.  I have high hopes for it, and I wonder how homebrew will use the controller.  PS3 is exiting too because it looks like its going to get a lot of cool, though not-so-innovative games and it is going to run linux out of the box.  That means even unmodded, there will be tons of things you can do with it, even more than xbox 1.
