i remember reading this forum and getting excited each time an app got updated.

eg scumm development was getting really good and then it stopped.

The homebrew scene is exploding, especially with the latest release of WiFi lib.

I've been waiting for a SD version for months but I think they finally gave up or something

Development never stopped on Scumm, it just hit a few obstacles on the way, namely saving.  AgentQ has been working on it, and says that unless he finds something badly wrong with his latest work, the new version will be out in the next week or two.  And yeah saving should be fixed.

does anyone know if the full game of Monkey Island 3 (curse of monkey island) work? with saving?

if so, how do I do it? :)

well as far as scumm goes:

Monkey Island 3 will not work
Full Throttle will not work

I have been trying to get saving to work for a long time now with no success. There is a version of the FAT driver the supports SD writing but I think the read speed isnt fast enough so the games dont work.

I agree that homebrew has been slow lately dont want to name any major projects that seem to have been put on hold (a certain emulator :( ) but its just that time of year, some people are studying for exams others are just enjoying the sun (northern hemisphere) hopefully it will pick up again.

Funnily enough it seems now that all the support for developers is there (PA_Lib is excellent, DSlua, SDL. Wifi Lib, Fat) but there dont seem to be many people using these things to make end products.

I think this will change though in coming months as the mentioned libraries etc become stable and people start using them more. Well thats enough ramble...

I just wanted to say that PSP homebrew is and has been going WAY slower DS homebrew (though I guess it's unfare to compair the two with the PSP's firmware updates).

There's always dips and curves in programing, so it best to just ride it out :D.

Here's the best site I can find for homebrew.  It's updated constantly (sometimes with 10 new posts a day) with news as well as releases:

I don't think that's even possible, that game is 2 CDs together and it has really good graphics which DS could never handle.. Well even it can, it would be hard to make transfer ot to DS i think...

Hi All,

I downloaded binary v0.61 from here http://www.drunkencoders.com/scummvm/#download

All I get is white screens :(

Would love to get some Monkey Island fun!

Anyone have success?

Why don't you check the other tread, and specifically this page:
http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3930&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15
Or even try to follow up the instructions on the official site ?
Should be working fine just about with every cart.

Thanks Q_Armando,

Used to using a Mac so things just work logically. ;) Didn't realise I had to change the filenames to have extension .nds. It works now. :) Gonna play my way through the 4 Monkey Island games (last two will have to be on Mac though).

I am glad I have been of any help.
