Fix your NDS Lite after FlashMe faild.

Ok, I know this is a Super Card forum but I'm hoping you guys might help.

I used my CycloDS (slot-1 dev) + Flashme = bricked

I guess I didn't hold the foil wrapped toothpick correctly.

Unfortunately CycloDS is not compatible with the flashme recovery mode. when I hold down Start+Select it takes me to the CycloDS recovery mode and can not launch the flashme.nds from there.

Anyways, I bought another DS Lite to replace the one I bricked. But do I have to flash the new working DS with Flashme to be able to repair my dead one? The last thing I want to do is brick another DS Lite.

Can I just put the working (virgin, non, flashme'ed) Bios chip into by bricked one, boot the cart, swap the bios again, and finish the flashme process to repair the bricked one?

Yes, that is exactly the way I recover a bricked DS . . .

Thanks for the reply and thanks for clearing that up. According to the first post on the first page, the donor bios chip is to be flashme'ed. I'm glad that is not the case.

This time, I'm going to solder a bridge across the jump points. I'm not even going to take a chance with that foil wrapped toothpick again. Once I'm done, I'll remove the bridge.

I'll have to wait for the tri-wing screwdriver I ordered from Hong Kong. (I wonder how long that's going to take)

Are there any risks other than breaking the power/volume switches off? If I pull off / put on the bios while still powered on, will it possibly blow any fuses?

I will be finishing the flashme process with a slot-1 dev (CycloDS) Do you see any problems with this?





Are these all the screws I have to remove? Is it hard to pry off the rubber feet?

Nope not the case. You only need the donor BIOS to boot then you are done with it.

That isn't necessary because you will hot swap the good BIOS out before you run flashme on the bad BIOS.

Make sure you remove ALL of the screws before attempting to remove the bottom cover. Don't forget the screws under the rubber foot pads and the screw in slot 1. Lift the bottom cover straight up.  Don't lose the springs for the L and R buttons.

Hot swapping the BIOS has never blown a fuse for me.  If you do blow a fuse somehow there are only two and F2 is usually the problem.

I understand everything you said except for the above quote. I understand that I will be swapping the good BIOS out before I run flashme on the bad BIOS but, how will I be able to complete the flash on the bad bios if the jump points are not jumped? AKA write protected?

The screw in the middle of the battery cover does not need to be removed. It holds the mainboard down and doesn't hold the cover together. The rubber feet should come off fairly easy with a small flat head screwdriver.

I'm saying you don't need to solder the bridge contacts points together. A toothpick and foil should work fine. The good BIOS should be safely swapped out before you run flashme. There is no need to bridge the contacts until flashme is started.

so what i have to do just

2. Swap Bio good to bad and Run Flash ME (have to do till 100%?? or just turn on the program and close?)
3. Then Swap bio back.
4. Now brick bios will work now and can turn on? or have to do a+b+select+start again? to run NDS?

No!

1. Find another good DS lite with good FlashMe BIOS
2. Put the good FlashMe BIOS into bricked DS and boot up
3. After the bricked DS boots, hot swap (while DS is still tuned on) the good BIOS with the bad BIOS
4. Now start FlashMe and run on the bad BIOS until 100%

This method did work for me but after bios swapping my DSL loss wireless/wifi function... My DSL cant detect any nearby DS or access point... anyone have any idea on this?
