I'm looking at getting a DS Wifi USB adapter for my PC. The choice is either between Datel's Wifi Max or the official NDS Adapter. The only this is that both of these are b standard and i'd prefer a g standard so I can get better coverage. Has anyone used these, to comment on how well they have worked, or not worked?

Another question, Would I be able to easily set up a standard USB wifi adapter to work with my DS, because then I could use a g standard adapter?

Cheers

as far as i am aware the normal usb adapters (not specifically made for ds) cannot act as a server, but i may be wrong, but as far as i know you need a router of a usb device designed for a ds for it to work, as you cannot configure standard devices in that way.

in terms or recommendations, i would go for the cheapest (if same price, i would go for official) as both will cover a house, and it is only a b adapter because of the speed, not coverage- nds only run at 1mbps (or so) to save battery power, so it doesn't really need to be 802.11g

The Nintendo one will only work with DS (and, in the future, Wii) but the datel one will work with any wireless device. (Devil_Spawn: The Datel one is designed to be an AP.)

That's most of the difference.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Cheers for the info.

I would be tempted to go for the official if it is going to be implemented with the Wii, what is it going to be used for?

Same thing it's used with the DS for - online gaming.

I asked a stupid question really. :p

Thanks for the info, I'll probably get the official and test it out.
