i would dearly like to find a site\s that hosts the latest bestsellers in e book form(for free...)...
All i came up with was copyright expired books(Jules Vernes 20,000 leagues under the sea etc)
which wasnt quite what i  was looking for....
Assuming this is permitted.....otherwise a PM???
Thanks

There aren't any that do such a thing... legally... your best bet would probably be a torrent site. I know of one I can PM to you about if you want.

mister x

If you need something to interpret .lit files ask me.

Is there any homebrew app that can allow viewing of .txts across both screens?

That's a good idea.  It would be cool to open the DS like a book and read text in portrait mode (like Brain Age).

Miggs

I wouldn't mind reading the text across vertical screens either, the ability to opt for either way would also be nice.

ermm,  excuse my ignorance,this e book thing is new to me.....
how is the best way for me to run e books on my sons DS??
Are .pdf's supported???Can one have, say, the latest Gaming magazine(which contains foth text and pics) on the DS???
I have found a wealth of goodies, but they are in different formats....which my layman knowledge has me guessing thats a problem??

Nyutan

Yeah someone should make an Ebook reader Brain age style. And have it save your position

thaddius

I used to have a text reader for Ds taht used both screens.
I can't find it but just know that I'm looking. I'll post it here if I find it.

Edit: Found it! It's here!!!
It's at the bottom. And it's a horizontal reader.
Apparently i found it here in the 'homebrew' section of this site way back when. It's pretty good, but if you change ebooks it will not save your progess AND you can only scroll one line at a time, unlike Dan Cotter's GBA text reader that scrolls an entire page at a time.

As for that guy who asked what kind of files you need, most take .txt files, not .pdf files. The program I posted just has you throw a bunch of .txt files into a folder and you can select them accordingly.

Again, I've been handing out that link to the .txt ebooks and the .lit converter. it's 2000 ebooks (there;'s some porn in there so be careful, I didn't make it, don't blame me) so if you want it, PM me.

I decided to put the .lit interpreter (it turns ,lit files into ANYTHING you want). You can find it here. it's a free app so I can't get in trouble.

1. Use any IRC client like mIRC,xchat or chatzilla(comes with mozilla
firebox,or can be downloaded as an extension).
Join us.undernet.org.
Command is :/server us.undernet.org
(Make sure that your port 6667 is not blocked for inet purporses,that
is that you are not behind a firewall).

2. Join bookz channel
Command is: /join #bookz

3. Search for whatever you want, the command might vary from time to time, try:
@find foo
@seek bar
@randomsearch baz

you are quite likely to find recent stuffs in html / rtf / txt formats, suitable for viewing on portable devices.
