MOST MESSED UP PROBLEM EVER

Okay I really hope someone can help me.  I flashed a friend's DS (original Firmware 3) with the newest FlashmeV7.  That was my 8th DS-flash and it WENT PERFECTLY.

The problem now: The flashed DS freezes on games loaded from Supercard, ORIGINAL games from the GBA slot, and ORIGINAL games from the DS slot!!
>>Freezes occur a few seconds to minutes into gameplay...

What the hell could have happened?!  Help needed urgently!

flash it back to the original firmware, use noflashme, and then see if the games work.
then flash back to the latest if its ok,and check if that works.
id lay bets on a f*cked up firmware installation.

got an update on this...
so I managed to unflash (reverted back to v3) and then tried booting games from Supercard (I have about 15 different Supercards to try out, so it's not the cards' fault) with a Passme1.  Game (Trauma Center) starts... then freezes... thus the same problem!  I'm still in the process of trying to make an original crash like it did before (Mariokart used as reference here)...

on *my* other Flashme5 DS everything has been working like a charm for the last few months...with exactly the same setup

>> I'm doing comparisons between both DSs as I write here.

I'll keep you guys updated on how that goes!  >> thanks for the reply btw.. although I'm pretty sure the installation went fine (the usual "it's safe to reboot your DS now" came up like with every successful flash)

I would check the baterry and battery compartment. Maybe a sliver of paper to ensure tight contact on the batery termainals.
Yes I'm mad

another sad update:

I can make the DS crash within mere seconds when playing the original Metroid Prime: First Hunt demo cart...  and I have to restate it freezes (not shutoff) thus I don't think it's a battery thing.  And it's kind of funny to hear the music repeat in a loop, similar to when a PC crashes...

This is definitely weird, because none of the DSs I've flashed before had these symptoms.  Anyway, my friend is gonna exchange this at the store tomorrow, which shouldn't be a problem, now that it's got a "clean firmware" once again.

Now I have a few theories that I would like someone to evaluate for probability:

1. While shorting the SL1 metal filings could have come off the contacts or the screwdriver (which I use) causing some kind of permanent short circuit that's resposible for the freezes.

2. Flashme was installed from a corrupted SD-Card (I was having trouble with copying files onto the card shortly after I had done the flashing) thus making the flash a successful, yet corrupt one.  >> is THAT even possible?
>>Could my "unflash" have been corrupt as well, making the original firmware have the same error? (highly unlikely though!)

3. Was the DS doomed with some kind of hardware defect from the get-go?  (this would be the most ironic, right?)

Anyway, I hope my friend gets this exchanged, because it aint running anything without crashes no longer  :?

sad story... great ending!!

so today my friend brings me a completely factory new blue DS and wants me to attempt the whole flashing business once again....  It's Firmware 5, thus I do it with a Passme2...no problem!  Flashme tells me it'll change from NDS-V5 to NDS-V7.

Yup, you can guess whats coming:  NDS-LITE functionality!!  I thought loopy said that it only works with Firmware5 DSs that Flashme recognizes as DS-Lites?!  Well in my case it recognized v5 and added Lite screen change-functionality----  ALTHOUGH it doesn't seem to save the setting I put it on in the bios menu.

Instead every game uses the second to highest Screen setting by default!  Compared to my v1 DS thats still A LOT brighter!!
