"SD not found" error, cause & solution

Hi all,

I've been lurking about in this forum and it's been a fantastic place for info for the Supercard SD.  I might be flogging a dead horse here, and also have had this issue myself and for a mate recently.

People have suggested their own solutions like from this thread:

http://www.scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2926

The main problem I have noticed is the first 2 contacts within the Supercard SD slot are not making proper contact with the SD.  This would explain why some people used the 'paper on the chip' technique, and also pushing the Supercard in wonky or applying a bit of paper to the SD to push in further, they all create a little more pressure to make the contacts on the Supercard touch the SD.

My simple process to find out it was this was I looked on the contacts in the SD itself and noted that there was not as much abrasion from making contact on the first 2 pins.  So I decided to just apply a 5mm wide post it note, lapped 2 - 3 times, and only on top f where the 2 contacts on the SD is.  Pushed it into the Supercard and worked fine.  One easy solution is to lift the first 2 pins in the Supercard slightly so it makes more contact to the SD.

This would also explain why some people were getting the error after 3, 4, 8, x, months after using the Supercard - the pins become more relaxed from being pushed down all the time.

Hope this helps.

I have this problem with my Supercard too. My fix is a little simpler, no need for any extra materials.
Once you inserted the Supercard into the DS, just nudge the Supercard to the right, so the SD card will be pressed in by the side of the GBA slot.
This solved all my SD not found issues.

Having recently purchased a SuperCard & SuperPass 2, i was getting a little distraught by the 'card not found error', but rather than tear my hair out i thought i'd have a little browse in the internet. Low and behold, you guys have given me with the information i require.

Thank you very much!

Fingers crossed it'll work.

I have had the same "cannot find SD" error, but everytime that has happened (twice so far), I put my card into my pc and it tells me the card needs formatting!! So I've had to format and lose all my saves :(

So what could my problem be? Help!!
