It's a split contact, you need to connect the two sides without touching the contact next to it.

On the original NDS it the hole thats covered up with a sticker on the upper left hand corner of the battery slot.

I just flashed my DS Lite last night... and it never shut off once. all i did was roll up a tiny piece of paper, stick it in the hole, then put a thin layer of tinfoil on a dull toothpick and and put it in the hole. that made it way safer, and it never shut off once! i was very happy with the procedure, i'll be posting pics of my tools i used to flash it soon to give others tips on what it should look like.

Yes, and when you go there, the link that should download IQSRAM.GBA downloads noflashme.nds.  It's still wrong.

Just to let everyone know ... I horked a improperly sold USA DS Lite from Target today.  Used the MML and flashed it with NO problems whatsoever.

I just bought a DS Lite from EB Games in Australia, works great, havent flashed it as im getting a new superpass 2 from a store round here to flash it with. Pictochat test comes out as magenta
