Do faster i.e. 66x CF's make a difference for playing games ?

I've currently got a 512MB Kingston card, just bog standard not 66x or anything, I've never had any problems, only slow DS game is animal crossing which I don't think is unusual.

512MB was super huge until I got my DS, now I can finally watch movies I need a bigger card!

Are there any benefits of getting one of these super fast ones (not counting the faster transfer speed on a pc which is a gimme)?

what's the largest size compatible with the Supercard (2GB isn't it for fat 16 ??) or can you trick it into reading 4GB by changing cluster size ?

Any makes to avoid ? PNY used to be one to steer clear of.

cheers in advance folks.

I haven't noticed any speed issues either. And I think you can trick it into using a 4gb card by using a cluster size of 64k.

I use a 1G Kingston, never noticed any major slowdown in AC. Maybe it's how you patched it.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

I'm running latest firmware and software patcher, it's not exactly slow down but it takes a while when exiting / entering buildings etc.

can you confirm which release of the rom you're using and patching options, I had - run from CF, save to CF, restart, fast play game and trim rom; I never thought it was slower until I read on another post that if you play it from the Supercard instead you'll notice it's a lot faster when entering buildings etc.

I have also defragged my card
