ive bent one of my pins flat on my sc cf
but its still working fine
my question is: is this pin needed for anything?

i dont know important it is, but i just wouldn't leave it like that. some guy here blew up his ds fuse because of a bent pin and bad contacts. If i were you i would grab some tweezers and fix that sucker up.

P.S.  Better to prevent than to regret.

I think it's pin 26.  It could also be pin 1, 50, or 25.  All four pins mentioned are ground, so don't let it short against other pins.  If the Supercard works then it's probably redundant or not used.

This happened to me once before so here is what I did. Take apart the SC. Use a small knife to bend the pins back into perfect positin. Don't apply too much pressure as pins might break. Put SC back together, you may have to glue it back together though.

I used a carpenter knife to open one side of his SCCF casing, and that was enough to slip out the pcb.

just got round to taking my supercard apart today because ive been on my hols
theres a long pin & a short pin on each end the one i bent was the long pin &
a little bit snapped of the top of the pin when i was straightening it so now its the same size as the 1 next to it
its still working fine but im gonna buy a new card anyway

Thats why I hate cf slots because of the pins that can be easily bent.  How did you open your supercard like that?  I should've done that because I ended up breaking it open and mess it up and now I bought a new one.
