Was this a good place to get it from? Are they going to rip me off? They seemed like a good place selling two products for nearly the price of one (Supercards are usually 49.99) and within the U.S. as well.

This is what I purchased http://www.realhotstuff.com/supercard-superpass-bundle-p-52.html

According to my research, that's everything I'll need (aside from the SD card itself) to get to work on hacking a DS lite all in one convenient package...

Please give me good news ^_^;;

I don't really think the superpass matters. Used it once to install Flashme, and it's been living in my drawer ever since. So just get the cheapest Passme device that'll work for you.

As for Real hot stuff, he's a good seller, fast shipping. He even replaced one of my supercards, which developed the replace SD error.

Some people might worry about bricking their DS Lites.

I don't get why people are worried. If you brick it, just take it back to the store and exchange it for a new one.

If people take a perfectly good working DS and "brick" it trying to modify the firmware, it's their fault. Imagine as more DS owners discover FlashMe and hundreds of DSs start flooding Nintendo warranty exchange department with little pink stickers missing. In clear conscience do you think Nintendo should pay the price for our mistakes to gain free games? Hey if you can get Wally Mart to exchange your DS more power to you, but it is technically fraudulent activity.

A new DS main board can be had for about $30.  Also, people with some soldering skills can disassemble the DS and attach a home-made PC parallel port interface cable to re-install flashme using ppflash.exe.  With DS lite no soldering is required, just a tri-wing screwdriver and a friend with another DS lite.

I actually need one. Where can you get them? And are they actually new enough to have the new power chip that allows brightness controls like DS lite?

I have two DS (phat) main boards.  I purchased them on ebay before I found out about DS fuses.  The one board I tested was FW3.  PM me if you are interested.
