I heard there was a music player for the DS using the supercard, however I have never played with a DS to know if it's either true, or the quality of music playing is at all decent...

I'd like to replace my psp's mp3 player with the DS's if at all possible, however since the sound from the DS (I THINK) is barely better than that of a GBA, I'm thinking it's not going to go anywhere...

Search for "moonshell". The DS can play mp3/ogg just fine, also plays videos,  although they need re-encoding.

Are there any equalizer settings? It seems every site assumes everyone knows what moonshell is, and they don't go in depth ;_;

no its just a basic mp3 player, makes an ok sound , but it distorts easily (volume), and u cant really hear that good quality without headphones,

Get some DECENT headphones and you won't hear distortion at all. Plus moonshell is always being updates with new features and better performance. As a matter of fact, a new version was released today lol

is it that hard for the moonshell guy to make an equalizer? some headphones have to much bass and not much treble or vice-versa. An equalizer would be beautiful, im really hoping and awaiting this. All we realy need is a treble and bass contol.

I think he tried to add an EQ a while back and the DS simply didn't have the power to handle it. It made Moonshell unusable.

I don't think that was the case. I have a cheap 10 dollar cd player the has an EQ. And I know damn well the DS is more powerful than that. Maybe we should ask I.P. to stop concentrating on the CLOCK plugin (since there's only so much u can do with a clock) and try to implement an EQ setting.

also if you notice, video quality has increased beautifully but mp3 and ogg sound like shit :x . if you dont believe try moonshell version .99 and OMG!!!! the sound quality is so clear and beautiful that i had to swict back :cry: . also does anybody know a way to switch or command moonshell to read the shell folder fom another location instead from the sd/cf main screen.( if you make a moonshell folder and put moonshell and the shell folder, it will not read the shell folder, it has to be in the main screen or main whatever you wanna call it)
oh 754boy, please do that, tell him we need an EQ.

an equilizer would be nice but even the ipod has a crap equilizer so its probably a lot harder to make then it seems.

Using a binary editor I was able to edit moonshell.sc.nds and replace all instances of "/SHELL" with "/SHEL2" to get moonshell 0.99 to use an alternate SHEL2 directory.

I wonder if you could hack two levels in there?  Like instead of "/shell" go with "/ms/sh" so you can put ALL of moonshell (including the nds file) in a folder OFF the root ...
