I'm buying a Supercard miniSD and I was wondering if this card works good with it? Has anyone tried it?

I don't know about the 512MB card, but I know it doesn't work with a Kingston 1024MB miniSD card.  If you already have the Kingston 512MB card, give it a try and let us know your results.  If you don't already have the Kingston 512MB card, I would suggest the following card...

...as I own two of them (along with two SuperCard miniSD's), and they work flawlessly.

Allright, thanks.

I haven't bought the card yet. And since it probably won't work, I'll buy another card. I live in Sweden though, so there isn't really a wide selection of cards. Does anyone know anything about Sandisk 512mb,TwinMOS 512mb or Corsair 512mb? Will any of those work without any major slowdowns etc?

SanDisk 512MB and 2GB miniSD work fine.  I picked up a SanDisk 512MB miniSD at a local store (Fry's Las Vegas) for $29.99-($20.00 rebate) = $9.99.

What speed though?

I'm not sure. The Sandisk miniSD aren't marked 60X or anything.  I'll look for more information when I get home.

I emailed Sandisk support and asked about the speed of the 512 miniSD card, and I got this answer:

"Thank you for contacting Sandisk Technical Support.
The speed of Mini SD card is 10mb/s read and 9mb/s write."

So that's about 60-66X?

Think so. But is that constant or just near the beginning?

someone has confirmed the 1gb kingston mini sd works fine.  I'll be testing it in one week.

I can confirm kingston works in minisd, have two of them also have a sandisk and the sandisk is slower

Cheers

i have a sandisk 1GB miniSD (no speed mark.. their "vanilla" model, probably around 60x) and an eagletec 512MB (from winsunx)..

the sandisk works fine, but compared to the eagletec, it is very slow.  I actually wouldn't recommend the sandisk card if you are streaming your games from miniSD.  Pretty disappointing if you ask me..

The eagletec had no speed rating, but it has worked flawlessly so far.

crispwarez

i have a sandisk 1gb thats only any good for moonshell

all games whitescreen using it

i also had a kingston 512mb that worked perfectly till something went wrong andis now unusable lol

smeden

Heh, ok.

I guess I'll buy a Kingston 512mb then :)
Thanks guys.
