Anyone have tried to flash their ds lite with wifime + nintendo usb stick?  I know it is possible in linux.  I only have a old passme, and I don't wnt to buy a second one.  I plan to buy a nintendo usb stick, and return it the next day, after I had flashed my lite.  Thank you.

I'm afraid the newer firmware on ndsl's blocks the wifime method. You need a passme2 / nopass.

thank you for the quick answer.  just bought a lite, and ordered a spuerkey from kicktrading.ca, they have received them.

I got a question sort of on this topic, I have just bought another DS and I can't tell whether the FW is 2 or 6 (I have nothing to base the color on, I can't tell whether someone would consider this blue grayish or dark - I can see it as being both).  If I try to run wifime on this to do flashme from a supercard, what would happen?  I've looked around a bit and all I can see in answer is "Wifime does not work with new firmware."

But what exactly happens if you try to run wifime on new firmware?  For example I broadcasted wifime and downloaded it.  I didn't have any flash cart to put in the gba slot, so all that happened was a white nintendo screen on top and a blank white screen on bottom.  Does that tell me anything as far as the firmware, or would that happen regardless?  I ask cause I don't have a passme2 or even a game on the compatibility list.

IIRC you get a mario 64 DS loading screen ( wifime is based on it ) then a message to the effect "Download play has failed"

this is what I get when wifime is not compatible then?  If so then I am going to assume it's v2 since I don't get that.  Thanks for your quick response!

edit: I wanted to emphasize that there was no flash cart or anything in my DS, if you know whether that makes a difference.

The white screens result sounds about right, its looking for something in the gba slot with a PASS header...

awesome thanks a lot -- saved me money on buying a passme2 and compatible game "just in case"
