Where to get DS Lite replacement parts

Hi!

Since I broke the inner power switch of my DS Lite (under the outer power switch ;)), I'd like to get a new one to solder onto the board. Definitely doable.

But since the local Nintendo representatives (third-party company) refuses to deal with imported products, no luck there, and they only sell replacement parts to other companies.

So: I need this small thing, can't be worth more than 3$/â,¬/Whatever, but:

Where from?

Any ideas? Please, if you have any idea, tell me! I got a new Lite, but just having a working DS Lite (can still turn it on with a screwdriver) and not be able to use/sell it or use it as a present for someone else just bugs the heck out of me!!!

cant u make something yourself, i mean i dont know the exact shape, but polestyrene cement, and some plastic, or solder something on, would atleast make it work

How about pulling a switch off an old GBA or something?  Maybe try to order away for a new switch?  I think it's a 2-pole double throw SMD momentary switch  (not sure).  You could also remove the "switch cover" from the shell leaving the switch exposed.  This would allow access to the switch with a small flathead, with the case closed.  If you are devilish, you could buy a new NDSL at Wally Mart and swap the bottom part of the case then return it (not recommended).

Thanks for the answers!

To make something myself seems out of the question, since it seems to be a, how to say, bouncy switch that closes a momentary contact, then runs back into position. Kind of like the regular volume controls on GBA SP and DS, but bouncing back to the "zero" position after you let go.

So the original GBAs have a similar switch? Because the SP doesn't have a momentary, but a regular switch. The cover was removed, but a DSL that you have to startup with a screwdriver and that's got a hole on the side isn't really the most attractive gift.

The Walmart is not a good idea, because I am in Europe ;) Where else would Nintendo not have a direct representative but a third party company? :p

To order away...indeed, that was the idea...but from where?

Actually, GBA doesn't have a momentary switch.  My thought was to hack in a simple 2-pole on off switch.

Good question?  That specific momentary switch might be custom made for Nintendo.  Perhaps your best option is to wait awhile for NDSL main boards to start showing up on eBay.  I see DS "phat" main boards going for about $30.
