I'm going to buy a lite this weekend when it comes out in europe so i'm doing a bit of research first. Does anyone know what percentage must be reached while using flashme in order for the failsafe mode to work. I read that with the old versions of flashme it was when it passed 100 (first block). However nowadays flashme is using a percentage system.

Also, if you do subsequent flashes to try and reach 100% will flashme begin from where you left off or will it start at 0% each time. Would it make a difference if it did start from beginning as technically the firmware would be the same up until the percentage you reached.

I can't wait to see when the European models are reached next week will there be problems with flashme.

I'm not sure anyone has an EXACT figure.  I've heard MANY numbers:  6%, 10%, 20%, 25%, 60% ...

I'm GUESSING the number is 27%.  My logic is this:  If you REFLASH your DS with similar firmware (like Lite Beta to Lite Final) the flash process JUMPS immediately to 27% then starts counting up.  I'm GUESSING that 27% is the magic number based on this fact.  Perhaps one of the more technical gurus can help you out more.

There are tricks to recovering your DS even if you don't make that 27% - some are nothing more than booting the DS in an unusual way, others are changing out the firmware chip manually to reflash it.  Many posts exists on this topic already.

That's the BEST way to flash your Lite.  Be as FULLY informed as possible before you start.

Thanks lads..I'll keep you posted alright. I've flashed my DS Phat already so I have an idea how to flash it. I just bought my max media launcher so I really don't need to flash the damn thing when it comes out. But my compulsion will make me do any way...With a bit of luck some shops will start selling early
