Hey people  

I created this thread so that you can express all your emotions about the World Cup 2006 in Germany. Anger, Hate, Love, Happiness, everything goes as long as it is allright the forum-rules of course  :wink:

First of all I'd like to say YEAH! Holland made it to the 1/8 finals by defeating Servia-Montenegro and Cóte d'Ivore, just Argentinia standing in our way (which we will probably loose against)  :?  :lol:

Yep, I watch alot of World Cup Soccer. I watch as much as I can. Lots of interesting games and unexpected results.

I'm hoping for Sweden to win of course, if not then Netherlands because I have a little Dutch blood in me.

Sweden performed really well in their last match didn't they? (1-0 against Paraguay I think)
Too bad they had a draw against Trinidad and Tobago, but they still have a chance

Yep, scored in the 89th minute against Paraguay (well deserved) and man was I scared that it wouldn't come. Draw againt T&T was crap, so many chances no goals.. But yeah, big chance to advance.

I live in the US and, as you know, for some reason soccer (football) is a "joke" to most people here.  I enjoy it, but it is very difficult to find ANY coverage of it here.   I'm more of a hockey fan though (Pittsburgh Penguins season ticket holder) and it doesn't get much coverage either.  Luckily I found a bar out it the middle of the woods (fishing trip this weekend) that would let us put on the Stanley Cup finals... luckily there was no stupid baseball game on.

Portugal/ France will be on wednesday, and I'll be in the train.

I was born and currently still live in Australia. But both my parents are from Madeira (Portugal) and nothing has made me more happier to see them beat England for the second time in two years in penalty shootouts. Ricardo is somewhat of a god in my eyes at the moment. Although it would have been good to see the Socceroos beat Italy the other day (I have to say they were robbed by one of the worst umpiring decisions I have ever seen in any sporting event, EVER!!!!) I can defiantly see Portugal winning their first ever world cup. They really do deserve having that first world cup star above their crest!

true, but France played really good last game... I think Germany will win the Cup though. They have a huge advantage bcuz they play in their own country + their team is rly good...
