This post is just speculation on my part, but I believe that with Nintendo selling so many new DS lites not only in japan, but now here in america, is going to bring a whole new group of homebrew developers, and we should start seeing a lot more programs released for our cool little machine.
I've kept watch over a lot of PSP / DS forums and before the DS lite, i noticed that only about 3 or 4 percent of the traffic going to the DS homebrew sections and the other 95% going to the PSP homebrew sections. But recently with the release of the DS lite, I have seen that percentage jump up to about 12% or in other words, the number of users tripling... I think we should expect to see that the really great development that is going on right now for our machine will only increase  exponentially from here

thats great news because the ds does have great posiblilties but we dont have enough developers

I think the contest that NEO is running is going to help things a great deal and hopefuly stuff like that will happen more often.
