I'm going to brick a fat DS. What's the best way?

What's the best way to "fake" that an old DS is broken? Should I run Flashme V7 and turn the power off at ~30%? Will A+B+START+SELECT work then? Or is there any other, safer way? :)

you can drain the battery fully...

...why do you want to do this anyway?

smeden

I'll tell you when I'm done :)

And no, the battery method isn't good enough

I have the feeling he wants to send it back to get a lite, doubt if any shop or nintendo would fall for that one!

I flashed it with an older version of flashme and ran mario kart (which killed it). I went back to the store where I bought it (I still have warranty) and told them that my DS didn't work etc... and they gave me a Lite instead since they don't have the old DS in stock anymore :)

If you flash a DS, don't you automatically lose the warranty, because you revome that sticker?

I doubt the people at the store check for that kind of stuff. It was pretty shity thing to do,lol. You could of sold it on ebay for about $100 or more if u included retail games with it and then just bought a DS Lite.

I've removed and replaced the sticker quite a few times for flashing. Just by looking at it you wouldn't be able to tell that it was removed before!

I don't have any retail games.
Where I live DS Lite is $150. I bought my regular DS for $75.
And yeah, it was a shitty thing to do. But fooling a big ass company like this... let's just say that I can still sleep at night.

Some people do this at Best Buy... get the warranty upgrade.  Then, break the DS Classic, wait until they are out of stock, then get the upgrade.  So for like what, $15, you can get a Lite from your Classic.

Well I sold my DS Phat on ebay for $95 a few weeks ago..  Got my DS with Brainage for $130... so basically I got a DS Lite upgrade for $15 and bought Brain Age for $20.

I bricked my DS phat with my SC CF by accident. 2 days after the Lite launch I brought it to Wallmart and exchanged it and $10 for a Lite  .
