I have just ordered one, It should arrive in the next 2 weeks, will review it it if anyone is interested in them.

Altor

Definitely want a review.  Seems outrageously cheap for a quality product, though stranger things have happened.  But, what did you get exactly?

Ultra flashpass
Ultra pass
Ultra media card

?

fattybumbum

Apparnetly what we get is a Flash pass, writer and software, it uses clean nds roms and once on the card the ds thinks they are original so multiplayer should work. I am still waiting for it to arrive, I hope it will be this week as I have now sold my suopercard and phat ds to get a lite so at the momnet I am stuck playing ganmes that I have!!!!!! Will get back to you.

sneef

I am awaiting your review!  :)

I have such a hard time believing their claims of "the rom on the flashpass behaves exactly like the original cartridge, therefore multiplayer works as normal"..  because it seems the ultra flashpass is a nopass with onboard memory, so in a sense your DS is still in "pass" mode, even though the data is from the DS slot.  hmm..

[edit] reminds me of the concept of the new pirated DS cartridges i saw in Malaysia.  same size and shape as normal DS cart, but you need flashme for them to work.  in a sense the ultra flashpass is like them, but has the nopass on board, so no need to have flashme installed. [/edit]

same here! this sounds way too good, there must be a catch or a hitch.

Altor

If they made a version with 512 megaBYTES of onboard memory, I'd pay any price for it.  $500?  Sure, sounds good.  I'd be saving for 6 months, but I'd still buy it...

scootdog

Did anybody ever get one of these things to review.  Also are they 512 megabits or megabytes?

Altor

Bits.

I've spoken with Eric Sing, the manufacturer, and he says he's sent out units to multiple sites for review.  Look for them by the end of the month most likely...  They only began to ship on the 13th or 17th or something.

fattybumbum

I am expecting it this week!

fattybumbum

I recieved this yesturday but I am having problems with it at the moment, someone has gotten catlevainia to work perfectly but I have not had much luck yet. THe build quiality is not as good a Romman and the whole think is not as simple as the whole supercard setup. Will report more when / if i get it to work.

It seems like the "Ultra team" has completely abandoned their costumers,  their forum  is no longer up and the firmware hasnt been updated in ages.

These guys make the DS-Link also. I talked to the guy the other day and this is what he said when I asked about the UFP web site:

Quotewww.NDSGBA.net will not down. Since we have a little problems about the software development (The main programmer quit), so we temporary close the forum.

Now we are already out source the programming work into outside company to help us. Once the new updated software is finish, we will re-open the forum. We just give out the hardware and software source code into outside company, we think they need about a week to develop a new software.

We will continue the Ultra Media Card product. The new version of Ultra Media Card is under development (simular product to DSLink).

Yeah I got the same response word for word.

Beware, Ultra Flash Pass is the same as NinjaPass.
Many people reported it was ultra slow (like 20minutes to flash a 512 Mbits game).

There was no software update for a long time too and they closed their forum because of people asking for support...

They also claim to be the DSLink makers, that's wrong, they sell it on their mini online store at a huge price and made a fake site ds-links.com (the real one is www.ds-link.net )

I don't recommend anyone buying their stuff, and concerning the pirate games, I also saw one on a Chinese website that looked like an UFP cartridge, so I guess they come from them too.

Alright, that seems just strange. I was also browsing the store that is reported on www.ds-links.com. There isn't any actual information page, just a paypal address to pay and no way or means to contact them at all.
