this is a noob question, but can i use moonshell to install flashme to my phat DS?

Devil_Spawn

no becuase you cant run moonshell without flashme (or a nopass) ^^

btw, why start a question with
QuoteThis is a noob question

AmienZero

heh. that's because i'm a noob.

anyway, my DS is installed with flashme, but since i bought a used one,  i don't know what version of flashme is installed to my DS. and the only way i was told to check your flashme version is to install flashme.

rocky

You dont need to install flashme just run the prgram and it will tell you the version.  You can run flashme in moonshell but why  not just run it on the supercard menu?

AmienZero

it's not like i don't want to but i've tried running a homebrew (rein) directly from the supercard but it didn't work but i got it working with moonshell. so i figure out maybe you need moonshell to run flashme. which seems to be not true. :p

okay, one last question. if i were to install a newer flashme, do i need to short the whatever thingy thing? the one that you need to press and hold until it finishes at the back? i forgot what it is. :p

Altor

Some say you don't need to short the SL1, and I found this to be true with my Phat DS.  My Lite seems to need the SL1 shorted for every flash though - but maybe this is because the first time I flashed it, I put on the wrong firmware (NDS not NDS-L).

BTW, there's a thread floating around here with the latest version of Flashme, if you're having a hard time finding the most recent version, just search for "lite flashme brightness", I think that's what I used to find it...

AmienZero

ahh i see. i've found a newer flashme at gbatemp, i'll try it later at home. anyway thanks everyone! i'll post the results later.
