I can't get any DSI file to load without Metroid Hunters.  Not even Super Mario 64 with the ACTUAL SM64 cart in the DS slot!   I've heard that others can.. I'm so confused.

Here's my info:

SuperCard SD
Nintendo DS
FlashMe

Thanks guys.
ow Playing: Super Princess Peach (IMPORT)

It seems like some ROMs are particular to having Metroid in the DS slot.  Why?  I don't know.

all the games I have loaded with World Championship Poker (U)
Supercard SD, Sandisk 2 GB, AData  256 MB
Supercard One - 512MB Transcend
Pink DSL with flashme v8a Org-FW  haven't checked

Anyone else gotten any other games to work as loaders?

I wonder if the "loader" game is somehow dependent on save size.  According to http://cubehacker.com/dsdatabase/ndssave/ndssavedb.html the save sizes for Championship Poker and Metroid are both 4k.

The "loader" game is dependent on save size.

It's strange that mario won't boot mario though. heh.  mario is 64k.  majority of games are 64k, with others being 4k, and a few 2Mbit.

that's why even though you can boot a game with metroid demo, often times you cannot save properly, because of a mismatched save size.

Speaking of saving... someone named Brian (who posted on the official supercard english forum) is working on code that will enable transferring saved data from DS cartridge to the supercard!  supposedly the work is almost complete.  it would still mean using your DS cart to save, but you could theoretically transfer the save file to supercard (for transfer to SD or CF), enabling multiple save games (one at a time)

let's hope it works out.

Wait a sec... you have to have a certain DS card in the DS to boot games? And whats this about saving? Does it overright your saves on a DS cart?

Unfortunately, unlike the ball, people do not bounce.

yes it writes over your saves in the DS cart.

at the moment saving a nds.dsi game is only possible by saving to the eeprom of a DS cart in the DS slot.

unless you use Brian's EEPROMTool.nds  ...

but it's quite tricky.  this new tool hasn't worked for me on every game, but works on some.  it allows you to backup the DS cart eeprom to the SRAM of the supercard, which in theory makes it possible to back it up to the SD/CF card.

God damn it, Japanese DS, no metroid... to ebay!

bought an action replay max duo just now.

it helps a lot!  now all i need are a 64k, 4k, and 2mbit eeprom save slot game.  i'm using rayman ds (64k) metroid or spiderman (4k)... have yet to get a 2mbit to use.  I have nintendogs, but i'm not gonna write over that since i use it every day.

now i can back up my saves to the AR max duo (or through it, to the PC... for 2mbit saves) and use those three carts as save carts.

works well, until there is a proper method of writing ds eeprom data to the supercard's SD/CF slot.

I am using the flashme, I have not had any of the roms released not load, only not save. I am able to get the homebrew ndos to save. I have only tired to use the save with Robot and was unable to get it past 6 when restoring it just freezes every time I try. What games have you been able to save and what gba are you using?
