So the question is, would you use VGMDS if it supported SD cards?

Ive got that around somewhere. If you want it let me know or get it from Satas Rein, that should have the version the supports BOTH reading and writing to the SD card. Good luck.

I think this is a really great homebrew software. It feels unfinished when I toy around with it though.

Its in early stages!
The next release will add much more things, and Globoeil is working hard.
He is going to add faster Map-Making soon, also

Please subscribe to the forum and speak with Globoeil himself!

To spark your interest in VGMDS, here is a screeny of a game I am starting to create

Nice screeny, I really like the hero sprite. The quality of the graphics look great and at the same time you can't really "put a name to the face." It doesn't say Zelda, it doesn't scream Secret of Mana.

Is that a Zelda like adventure game or an RPG? Could that game have been either with those graphics?

Thundrestrike

Its going to have a "ABS" (action battle system[zelda-like])
I'm not going to use Globoeils default battle system (when he makes it)
I'm going to make a custom battle system, its kinda hard, but I know how because I've made one on RM2k :)

He has plans for SD implementation in the next version, everyone!
He plans to release anytime before December 24

I have been testing the beta version and it is very great, with switches, pages, page conditions, variables, start event conditions (press a/b/x/y/autostart/etc), 3-ANIMATION-HERO-GRAPHIC!!!, and soon to have fork conditions and SD support, and MORE!!!

Ouza, I will mention your name to Globoeil to see if you can be the SD-tester for VGMDS. I ask you to please join the forum and speak with him! I will send him a PM. (note: he is not ready to start SD-testing yet, but keep in touch with him and when he starts he will send you beta tester versions [if he agrees])

Who is happy!! :D

Ouza- I asked Globoeil and he said yes if you are interested in being an SD-tester
Being a tester means you get pre-alpha/beta/pre-releases and all that stuff, just like I do!
But you have to help look for bugs, which is pretty easy though.

Do you accept? Globoeil says he will need you sometime short of a month from now

I'm OK to test VGMDS, I create already some games on Rpg Maker 2000 and XP !

Did you ever ask him whether he would consider making a PC app for this so you could make the game on the PC then compile .nds rom that would just play the game on the ds? This would be more sensible IMO.

rorix_bladewing5

I think I read somewhere that that was being considered.

Quote from: "darkwolf"is it possible to make an emulator version to where people can make them on a computer?
Quote from: "Globoeil"
Yes, in fact, the idea of a computer-version of VGMDS is a very good idea; but I will work on that after the final release.
Quote from: "darkwolf"what about save it as a .nds file for easy access?
Quote from: "globoeil"Also, the idea of an "packed" .NDS executable is too an old idea for me, and I've found a way to do it directly from the DS but I must wait the final version to release this feature.
There you go!

I guess he has many plans for the final release, which is around December 24
Not to mention adding SD support! 8)
