Mario Kart (Multi-Card Play--Not Download)

Hello,

Can someone verify that Multi-Card play with two flashcarts--Mario Kart on both flashcarts--works with Mario Kart?

My girlfriend and I both have SC lites, and we both have Mario Kart on them, but when we do Multi-Card play (not download play) my DS freezes just before the race/battle starts.

We can WFC each other flawlessly with Mario Kart, though; we just can't do the Multi-Card play.  Tetris and Mario Hoops both work with Multi-Card play between the two of us.  I just can't get Mario Kart to function via Multi-Card non-download play without freezing.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It works fine between my wifes and mine. I suggest your try another dump of the game or different settings maybe?

This is the first time I have ever heard of this problem if you are not doing DS Download play.

Hi 5th,

I've never heard of this problem either; there are tons of threads about download play freezing up, but null on multi-card play.

I'm wondering if it's my DS.  Here's what piqued my suspicion.  When my girlfriend and I both do multi-card on MK, only my DS freezes to a halt; her DS just states that she's lost the connection, but it doesn't freeze.  I traded SCs with her, thinking maybe her DS would freeze with my SC inside of it, but my DS still froze with her SC plugged in.  This happens when hosting and joining.

So, I thought it could be my DS, but I can't replicate the problem with Tetris, Boggle, or Mario Hoops with multi-card play; they all work great.

So, as you suggested, it's probably a bad rom.  But I'm wondering why my DS only freezes and not hers with MK.  Along with my cracked hinge and lone dead pixel, her DS always seems to be perfect  :?

Yes I'm mad

Hi Mean,

Yes.  The roms are exactly the same.

Try using a different region ROM on yours next time.

Also, do other wifi games work fine or just this one?

Ok, I'll try a different regional rom.  Would using the (U) and (E) version of MK qualify?  What's the difference?

All other wifi and multi-card play works nicely; Tetris, Boggle, Mario Hoops, Metroid and suchlike.  It's just Mario Kart that's not cooperating with multi-card play.  MK wifi works great, though.

I've had a few problems with mutlikart games that should in theory work fine:
TMNT and Ridge Racer.
Never with Mario Kart though.
What DS's are you using and are they flashed?

We've got two DS lites, both with SuperKeys and SuperCard Lites.  MarioKart is the only game with a multi-card feature that has been acting screwy so far.
