i have a phat ds and a super card sd

today i saw that gamestop can replace my phat with a lite one and pay70$...

so.. i wanted to ask first what to do!!!

about lite, dose it have anything bad thats not in the phat... [like not running some apps,or games]? :roll:

and is it working with my old super card sd

finaly  how can i flash it....or what i need to flash it[also if i get the black or pink will the flash work or nintendo has changed it]
also can i use wifime :?:

i have both phat and lite (phat:jap graphite, lite:euro black) and i like both of them, the lite one is much more prettier and smaller then the phat. the phat though to me seems more solid plus iv'e seen the lite hinge crack stories so if you do get it get the warranty. the lite has the 4 level back-light, which does help in different lighting situations.

i too have a supercard sd which i can use with both just by unplugging from one and plugging it in the other, both are flashed with the same flashme v7 firmware (stealth version). i flashed both ds's with my passkey 2. i suggest using the same method for flashing the lite as you did the previous if possible

games/apps compatibility is of course the same with both. also keep in mind the supercard sd will stick out further in the lite vs the phat just because nintendo decided to make the slot smaller then even a gba game cartridge.

wifime will be compatible with the ds but it's whether you yourself is compatible with wifime heh (http://www.aaronrogers.com/nintendods/wifime.php)

passkey 2 is made by m3, superpass key is the supercard made one, they're both work the same. although you don't have to take the risk of flashing your ds if you don't want to. you can use a superkey ( http://www.realhotstuff.com/superkey-p-77.html ) which you keep in your ds-slot at all times to make the ds read the supercard from the gba slot

ps: i have a passkey 2 for $10 shipped if you plan on going that route.

i wouldnt advise it i cant get used to the thumpad, its worse than u might think!

I've upgraded (or is that downgraded?) to the lite and i'm very happy with the switch.  Screen is brighter, controls are about the same, game and supercard compatibility is there, and it's just better looking.

I think the 70 dollar trade off is not bad.  I say go for it!

I would not recommend buying a new ds lite, cause you have he exact same thing. The only bonus I have seen is the brighter screen when comparing the new to the old (my family has both). I will be honest and say that it is easier for me to hold the phat ds, but I don't think I want to trust the dslite to a 7 yr old to not drop it.
