I've finally gotten tired of using the hardware based PassMe and flashed my NDS with the FlashMe software and there is a major compatibility difference when it comes to running images.

Here are my findings:

PassMe + SuperMario 64 (U) + SuperCard v2

> 256 images - Work fine
.nds files - Do not boot
.ds.gba renamed to .nds - Boot
all other images - Boot

FlashMe + SuperMario 64 (U) + SuperCard v2

> 256 images - Don't boot
.nds files - Boot
.ds.gba renamed to .nds - Do Not Boot
all other images - No Not Boot

Conclusion: There is a definitive difference between the two methods.

Spooky

Flashme:

some >256 images do bootup

-Yu_Gi_Oh_Nightmare_Troubadour
-Akumajou_Dracula (Castlevania)

"ds.gba renamed to .nds - Do Not Boot"

Renaming ds.gba to ds.gba.nds always work

Seems to be some issues with Supermario then, i used the Metroid demo as boot game.

Hi,

If you use a hardware PassMe you don't have to worry about this. If you're using the FlashMe see the thread below and do the swap trick.

Thanks for the reply,

However, i am not looking for a way to use the SM64 as a save card. I am trying to figure why we can't load any file with SM64 and flashme.
As you said that you manage to make some files to work, i think there is a way to make other things to work. I just want to see what are the differences whith the files i use.

JP.
