Hi, I searched for this, but I can't find anything.

I've heard there's a way to hack wifi courses that aren't available during normal play. Is this true? For example, would I be able to race on the course 'Tick Tock Clock'? If there is, could someone direct me to a pre-hacked download? Or maybe a tutorial? Thanks!

Well, I got this tutorial from the web a while ago, unfortunately I don't remember where, neither did I try this yet :? . So if you want it, use at your own risk. Plz if it works let me know!

Here it goes:

1. Follow Chishm's instructions for creating a modified rom. You may want to test it online to make sure you got it right before going any further.

2. Open the modified rom in a hex editor. Go to 0x00004C34. The value there should be 0C (which is hex for 12). This is the number of tracks in your customized list. Change it to 14 (hex for 20). This will allow you change every course in the WFC track list.

3. From 0x00004C64 to 0x00004C6F, you should find the string "0C0F111317181A2021232526." This is the 12 new tracks. Change them, and the following 8 bytes (up to 0x00004C77) to adjust your track list.

Here are the values for all tracks in the game, along with their internal names (from Parasyte, on page 6 of this thread). Grand Prix courses not normally available are marked with *'s. Also, I added the menu name for all Grand Prix courses in brackets. The other courses are either battle arenas or incomplete tracks, I do not recommend trying them as they may crash your game.

Huh, thanks! I'm not very into rom editing, so I'm gonna have alot of trouble, but I'll try! Do you know where I can find a hex editor?

meow

Hey Mike, I'm trying to do this as well, that was the same tutorial I had. Very confusing stuff V.V

tennisgy

I had a hex editor but it was in german, also I heard that you need a real hardcopy of this game to make it work, true?

Sorry guys, but I'm new at rom editing. Can anyone post a simple guide? Thanks ^,^

unluckylink13

Huh, I dont' think that's true. ROMs are like the same thing as the game.  :?

tennisgy

sorry, with the easy way you need the real game.  with a GBAMP and a flashed DS you can open an IPS patch to give all courses then you quickly run the real game

just got this

I do have the hard copy of the game, but I'm pretty new, so I don't have a GBAMP or anything like that. I have to get off of the computer now v,v. I'll be back on tomorrow.

meow

Damn, this sucks, I want to play Tick Tock online so bad.
Oh well...

vankrelian

I just edited the rom and the game seems to run fine, but I can't test the wifi tracks right now, along the week I'll try to test it. If it really works I'll post the link to my patched rom somewhere.

Yeah, I'm using just the rom, the clean dump from the real game without any kind of patches. Actually I didn't find that string too, but I modified it anyways. At least the game works as it is, well... let's just wait and c if it works on wifi
