Kicktrading is selling the M3 and have it in stock heres the link http://www.kicktrading.ca/index.php?cPath=27&osCsid=342413a206b2dd6bc0e54c472bc9432e
Its weird because the m3 website said it would release the 20th but kicktrading.ca says they have it in stock.

The M3 Adapter was already out for sale in China, I think way back in July. And the passkey is already in stock in China since the end of August.

I am currently waiting to order mine pending the release of all DS Rom titles in a form of CD/DVD so that I can get them together, rather than downloading them from the net which may take ages.

I don't see any reason why Kicking trading cannot get a hold on this M3 adaptor with the passkey.

Furthermore, you can also download all the necessary application software from the M3 website itself.

From what I gather from my supplier in China, they said the M3 has the best DS Rom compatibility compare to other similar product todate, and ask me not to worry about this issue so much.  As they are compiling all the DS Roms on DVD, obviously these commercial DS rom will also been tested on the M3 together with Passkey

Could you ask if the following games work?

Meteos
Jump Superstars
Kirby: Canvus Curse

And if it saves directly to the CF and if it saves 2MB games?

Jeeze, I wish they would get their darn forum up so the SC site isnt taking more M3 infos... unless the mods want to add a offtopic/M3 subforum that is

I'm getting my M3+superpass next week.
I'll make sure to post with impressions.
I already bought all the decent DS games out now and even imported a few so I can compare to the original cartridge :).
Can't wait.

Hey stupid2ass (sorry if that sounds like I'm insulting you), I implore you to make a comprehensive review of it when you're done. None of the half-truths and incomplete reviews and impressions of it we're getting right now.

GO SUPER MEGA ULTRA CRAZY AND BREAK DOWN THE ENTIRE PROCESS!

*wipes forehead* I know that's asking too much, but I don't think there'd be one person on this forum that wouldn't appreciate it!

I take it since this is in the Kicktrading thread, you're getting the CF version, right?

Yep, not to worry.  I don't do things half-assed and I have plenty of time to fool around with it when I do get it.  I'm as excited as everyone else to find out if it's everything they claimed (even if it just plays all the GBA games at fullspeed just fine with RTC, I'm fine with that).   I'll be trying all the slowdown games first then the Pokemon games then the DS stuff.
Two more days to go.  And yes it is the CF version.

Does anyone know of a good site to get some instructions on the M3?
The stuff came witha cdrom but as usual with all cases chinese, it's bare bare minimum when it comes to help.
So far I can get the GBA stuff to work (working on a full review) but I wanna know how to do the Supercard-like functions like realtime save etc.
POS as far as I've seen doesn't support compressed roms which is one MAJOR knock on it.  And they have a fancy new update which I haven't loaded yet but no software for their DS patcher until sometime next week.
The full review will have to wait until I have a chance to fully test out the currently crippled DS function.

Quick GBA impressions:
+ no slowdown whatsoever (tried Yoshi's advance, Sigma Super Star Saga, even the untouched Riviera)
+ Games load much faster using the same card
+ no need to do the stupid L+R+Sel+A that you need for SC to actually save, with the M3 it is automatic/worry free.
+ it's silver, like my DS :)
+ just plain ease of use (plop in the rom, play away)
+ crystal engine compression, same as the movie player advance which I have; I doubt I'd use this feature much since I have a PDA & PSP
+ menu is much nicer

- no compression (boo!)
- so far i can't find a way to do realtime save
- software doesn't have enough help files
- stupid 2 second disclaimer screen is annoying
- so far I haven't seen a way to do cheats on the fly like the SC

For all the limitations, if someone can educate me on the M3's secret functions, that would be great.
I would recommend it highly if you DON'T have a Supercard.  As it is, stick with the Supercard unless you value the no-slowdown and RTC and no need to worry about saving when you turn off your DS.  For plain convenience (GBA functions), the M3 is a wonderful device.

On the M3 site it says A+B+L+R gives you the realtime save. Does that not work?

chek

First you have to create a \GAMESAVE directory in the root directory of you compact flash card.

Copy the all the GAMESAV0.DAT~GAMESAV9.DAT file from the enclosed CD into this \GAMESAVE directory.

At the moment, the hardware gamesave only allows these ten files at the moment, with later be increase from GAMESAV0~GAMESAV9 and GAMESAVA~GAMESAVZ that makes a total of 36 slot in total in the future.
They work around this limitation with no patch to the rom.

FOR Real Time Save to work, you need to install the Game Manager software included in the CD.  Because original GBA rom does not recognized the LEFT+RIGHT+A+B button, therefore they need to be patched with this software.  Once it is patched, and copy into you Compact Flash.

You can evoke the real-time-save menu by pressing LEFT+RIGHT+A+B which will bring you to another menu, which you will understand because it is in english.

In order to use the normal hardware save that work just like the original cartrige.

First play the game, and save to a point which the game allows you to save.

Turn you GBA OFF.

when you play the same game again, the M3 will use the same game save memory because it is retained by the built-in battery.

To save it in to you CF card then you need to enter the game menu. and then press SELECT.

then use the LEFT / RIGHT directional button to select the GAMESAV0 to GAMESAV9 slot which you want it to be same.

Once your game save has been saved.  The next time you selecting a GBA ROM you have a choice to use the CF save data or the memory in the M3 itseft.

Pressing A when selecting a game will always use the M3 game save memory. and

Pressing START will use you game save data from you CF memory.

I hope this help.

The no slowdown is definately seeming to be a reality... TRY MARIO KART...

I do however, have a feeling that if Romman can get the NDS games to load and save and run the roms direct to/from the CF/SD the slowdown might be able to be removed for the GBA games.  Which is still to me, an unconfirmed rumor.

Once Romman LOGS IN to the message boards, or posts on the main site, I'll believe it.

I have already tried Mario Kart, Serious Sam,  Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Advance 1,2,3,4, Including Boxing Fever,  Tekken Advance, Konami Krazy Racers, Banjo Pilot. etcs

All works with NO SLOW DOWN. confirm the speed on the GBA side is as what it claims.

socket

Nice.

i hope romman can pull this through for the DS and make the unpatched GBA roms work someday... i know it's a pipe dream, but i'm completely behind SC for some reason... probably because i own one.

Being that I dont even own a DS yet... this is definately going to be interesting.  On one hand, if the SC performs well enough with DS functions, I'll probably go and buy one right away.  If not?  I'll probably get an M3 and hold off on the DS.   I want perfect GBA playing :) ...

But either way, I keep my SC.

stupid2ass

Yeah, Mario Kart was the first game I tried.
Thanks Chek that seems to work.  It would help if the damned m3 website can get their act together and at least post it in their FAQs.
The way SC works is better.  I can choose either the realtime or memory at any point in time.

socket

but i bought it to play games... if i have to sacrifice "the way it works" for performance, i will.
