so it appears the rumble feature will be configurable to the extent of designating it to particular action button(s) and also for intensity. And, we know it can be enabled for any DS game. However what I'm wondering is whether it will function as intended in games that have native rumble support, such as Metroid Prime Pinball or M&L SS? If this thing doesn't rumble when its supposed to in games that actually have rumble, that would be a shame.

I'm sure it will rumble in games that have native support for the rumble feature however I don't think it will feel like the native support. What I basically mean is that it won’t feel like you’re using a normal rumble pack as I'm sure the rumble feature will be sensitive to some type of trigger in game. I would rather have a Slot 1 Solution and a real DS Lite rumble pack in the long run as this is a shameful gimmick by the SC Team.

Its either shameful or just plain stupid... I mean only like 9 games support the rumble feature.

lenselijer

thats not true

the new patcher can patch every game to support rumble :D

gopherbob

yea but it will patch it to rumbe on a certain button... aka when you kick or punch... sux.  I will be getting one though its so cheap... if i hate the rumble i will either never patch games for it or just cut the motor wires.

Shameful gimmick? That is taking it a little too far isn't it? Sure it isnt a completely necessary feature, but the people who dont find it necessary wont buy it, those who do like it will. It isnt shameful, it is just economics, the law of supply and demand. I think it would be nice to have a single device solution that has full capabilities for all DS features, including rumble. Rumble isn't enought to make me buy it personally  though (i already own a SCL). I'm sure there are some who will want to buy it though.

tennisgy

considering how cheap it is, its kind of like an Ewin with rumble

Whats the battery drain from the rumble motor gonna be like, thats what i wanna know.

I don't think it is a gimmick.  It is not something that is needed, but I think it is a good step.  It means that they have a little extra space on the carts, and that means that future support for things like battery might come.

battery for what?

PharaohsVizier

For future GBA support such as the RTC (Real Time Clock) and things like that.  The Supercard Mini SD's battery really helps if you want to store SRAM.

I think its a big gimmick as its tied to a certain button you press and not to the game. I can shake my damn hand when I push a button and keep my GBA, LOL. This a quick way to get users to shell out a few more bucks before the Slot 1 solutions. I think they just need time to make one and this gives it to them. I am a big SuperCard supporter and this is pure 100% gimmick.

it will not just support certain button pressing, in the future they plan on allowing people to patch roms to work with it, for instance in mario kart, someone can make it so that it rumbles when u bump into another kart or when u get hit. they are also supporting original rumbling roms, they will be releasing a few more of these.
upercard MiniSD Rumble
Superkey
Transcend 1Gig 80X

Devil_Spawn

so it will definitely work on the roms meant to rumble?
