I've said it before and I will say it again (in a different topic).

You make make folders hidden on the Supercard (SD at least) by ticking the 'archive' box. It doesn't seem to screw anything up for me.

I mainly use it to hide a Tools files which keeps stuff like the SC Magic Patcher. I also use it to hide the Moonshell folder. It can help clean things up.

onekelly

Well I hide folders by right clicking on the folder and choosing properties, then at attributes at the bottom check the hidden box. You then have a choice whether to hide the contents of the folder or not. I do not know about the archive but this works for me and most others.

jas20

The archive option only affects the Supercard's view, not windows. Moonshell can still see these folders.

Using the 'hidden' option doesn't seem to hide things.. But why would 'Archive'?

No offense but are you sure you are doing it correctly, because both my supercards do not show the hidden folders either in supercard menu or moonshell menu, which are shell and i also hide the folder but not contents of my movie folder so my daughter cannot mess with it in the supercard menu. I also have moonshell start out in the movie folder so it goes directly to the movies, but if you back out you cannot get into it.

So with that said I do not know how it is not working for you.

on the topic of archive setting......who knows

jas20

Hmm... I tested it again this time with 2 tests.

1 folder with 'archive'. Another with 'Hidden'.

Since the newer firmware, both are hidden. But MoonShell only hides a hidden, but 'archive' is still there.

So if you want to hide something from the SC menu, but NOT moonshell: use archive.
If you want to hide from both, use hidden.

I like using archive as I don't have to keep changing windows's settings to see the folder (or blindly type the name of the folder).

Sorry for not testing hidden again (I'm sure it never did that before)... My card BTW is a DSE SD 512mb. Maybe it's my card? I would really like to get this comfirmed with other cards.

I have the settings in windows to show all files, etc... So the hidden is a little lighter in color.

In the process of updating to 1.5 and  upgrading premades.

Thanks,

Onekelly

oh yeah here are the changes

QuoteVersion 1.5 2006/12/03

Corresponded to EZ4/DSLink. I wish to express my deep gratitude to Rudolph.
'The cartridge of enhancing the memory of DS browser' can be used for the cache memory.
The resume item was added. (sound volume, reproduction mode, and NDSLite backlight brightness)
ResumeUsingWhileMusicPlaying item was added to [System] section of global.ini. The resume is preserved while performing the tune.
The DPG format was renewed. As for the DPG file made with a new encoder, seek is fast and the image doesn't fall into disorder either. Especially, it is remarkable in a long video.

NOTE:This does not mean you can use opera browser with moonshell this means if you have bought the DS Browser, you can put in the Memory Cartridge in slot 2 and it will be used as a cache memory

Awesome, Onekelly!

I eagerly await your changes! (All of those tricky files intimidate my inner child.)

Files are updated to 1.5. Photos will be updated in a day or two.

Just curious, whats the 'resume' function for? Thanks!

onekelly

Unfortunately I have been able to test it out yet (at work), and could not find any other info on the subject other than the global.ini file.

From the global.ini:
Quote
; 1.xx ResumeUsingWhileMusicPlaying = [0|1] (Default = 0)

; The resume using while music playing. (Request use resume function from setup.exe)
; 0 = Only when it began to music playing, the resume is preserved.
; 1 = The resume is preserved at intervals of 5 seconds. (Slow SD card has the click noise.)

ResumeUsingWhileMusicPlaying=1

I will check it out tomorrow and post my findings

Wow, sounds like Moonshell's resume now saves the position of a song being played every 5 seconds instead of just at the start of the song.

Don't really have space for videos on my mSD, so I'll think I'll hold off upgrading MS for a while at least.
