I thought you was going to send it to me to reflash for ya? The original forum all this info came from probably has people in Spain if you don't want to mail it that far.

Yeah, I will be sure to post the solution if and when we ever figure out what may be preventing that little program from detecting your SC.

Chances are you do not have the right firmware. The new batch files check if firmware.bin is in the directory, but does not check the file size, so it gives no error. I will see if Nickman can add anything to check for this, or put a note in the guide that your firmware.bin should be exactly 524,288 bytes, if not you either did not have 1.63 that you extracted off your supercard, or you downloaded the wrong firmware off the internet somewhere. You can download the old bat files here if you want to try those. It will tell you if the firmware.bin is the wrong size.

Sorry can't do anything about that. Maybe someone else in here.

What is strange is that i can't get SCZ.exe to report any error even if i crop my FIRMWARE.BIN. But atleast it doesn't make any preview.png.

One easy check to make (or do if you follow the guide. wich you SHOULD) is to alway check if there is a preview.png and that it looks ok BEFORE you run compiler.bat

This ofcource ASUMES that you DON'T copy a preview.png from any other place like say the example skins.

The thing is one can make how many failsafes as possible but there will always be one or more who screw their card ut becuse they do something wrong.

This IS flashing you card. IT WILL DESTROY IT IF YOU DO ANYTHING WRONG. And it's realy easy that something can go wrong.
So please ppl DON'T DO THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Your PNGs are not 256 color ( 8bits )

You need to convert your picture to 256 color ( 8bits )
In photoshop under Picture/mode/indexed colors
And then goto Picture/mode/ColorTable to edit the newly created palette
You should get something like that :
(I translated the menu names from photoshop, they may not be accurate).

If it makes any difference, my supercard sd is the latest version with the added two grooves on the back.
