I read on this forum that the best formatting for DS-Link is FAT16, 64k clusters.

Windows format will let me select fat-16, but has no options for cluster size... what software do I need?

Cheers

If you're running XP/2k you can right click on "my computer" select manage then click on disk management, from that thing you can select more advanced formatting options. Failing that if you're happy using the command line have a look at the options to "format" or you can use "mkdosfs" ported to windows... http://www.mager.org/mkdosfs/

Nice one, I'd completely forgotten about the disk manager! Thanks :)

If only my bloomin' DS-Link would arrive!

I did it from a DOS Box ... :)

I BELIEVE it was:

format <your drive letter>: /A:64k
