Firefox 2.0 was just released! It has a lot of improvements like anti-phishing and a spell checker that will do real time spell checking no matter where your typing. Grab it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I'll stick to my IE7, I used to do the Opera route for the longest time which I still think is a great browser but IE has come quite a ways since then. There are so many different browsers out there, should only need one and I found mine ... for now.

Is their a way to get that email link in the top right corner like the old firefoxes?  I think they took it out because it was causing problems or something?

DeVS

It has a memory leak but the old memory leak hack works:

1)Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
2)Right click any line to bring up a sub-menu
3)Choose “new”>”integer”
4)paste this into the dialogue that appears: browser.cache.memory.capacity
5)Next click Okay
6)Specify the amount in kb (about 60000 should do) in the next dialogue that appears

This cut my memory usage in half for Firefox 2.0

Die hard Opera dude here ... I'm glad for competition in the browser market, but even Firefox 2.0 can't drag me off my Opera 9 :)

I prefer Opera. Although after DeVS mentioned that 'hack' I might switch back...

Found in Mozzila forums how to get the X to close tabs off the tabs themselves and back to the right side like the old way. Type about:config in the browser address bar, then find "browser.tabs.closeButtons" and change it from 1 to 3.

Is there a reason not to use IE7?

NT

I think 2.0 is great so far.  They integrated a lot of stuff from well-known extensions into the browser.  I no longer need Tab Mix Plus because the default tab handling in 2.0 is just what I need.

Also, put this into your address bar:

Inevitable security/spyware vulnerabilities, no extension support, fewer features, etc...

So the same as before with IE6

Pretty much.  I don't see any compelling reason to use IE7 over Firefox.

ntolerance, thanks for the info. That is what I kinda thought.
