When I patch a DS rom with the patcher, what exactly does it do to the rom?
I'd like to write a patcher for os x, so any thoughts are appreciated :)

Devil_Spawn

it changes all the access and save locations to the bottom slot,

seriously though its far more trouble than it would ever be worth, the pc version is emulateable u know

your only chance is to get the source for the current patcher

i dont know if anybody here really knows  EXACTLY what it does, try experimenting with a hex editor

you could try running the patcher in darwine (os x wine) ... i know it works in wine under a linux kernel, so it should theoretically work in darwin unix..

Thanks for the replies.

It doesn't work for me. I get errors trying to run the program. Could be that it doesn't work in Win98, but XP is way to heavy to run in an emulator. Maybe this is a known problem? I didn't memorize what the error was, but I can check it up.

Sadly, darwine can't actually run anything on the PowerPC macs.[/quote]

Hi

If anyone "cracks the code" perhaps they could make a version that will enable restart but not do anything else? You might no if you've seen some of my other posts around this form that I'm crazy about making my homebrew restart.
