okay these might be pretty dumb questions but still, show the noob some love   :

i got a SClite the other day over here in bangkok incl. a 1 GB micro sd with a few patched ds games on it. now i am trying to save my games. with a few games (nsmb, animal crossing) the ingame save works just fine, others (mario kart, nintendogs, bomberman, star wars ep 3) don't save ingame at all. the key combo to get me a real time save doesn't work on any game, but that might be because i don't even get what romman an his mates try to tell me in the help section of the SClite menu and/or the games haven't been patched to enable these funtions. so my questions would be

what's the secret of the mysterious ingame save?

what's the key combo to enter real time save?

how am i supposed to perform the switch off & save trick while keeping the save in the sdram?

on my pc i might have been able to fiddle around with the software from the official webpage, but as i only got my mac with me (no, i am not willing to install bootcamp without backing up :D ), i am stuck here.

thanks a ton in advance.

RealTime Save is only for GBA games. You don't need to perform the switch-off/save trick for NDS games. For NDS games, you should use the game's built-in save function.

Using the patcher software, there is an option to patch the ROM save location: to save on the microSD, or to save to a DS cart in Slot1. I'm guessing the games that won't save are improperly patched or maybe the .sav file is missing/misnamed.

It would really be best if you patched your own roms instead of using whatever the shop put on your card. Maybe use parallels or bootcamp or something

Nds roms don't support real time save.  The games without ingame saves should save automatically, they are made like that.  The rom is an exact copy of the cartridge.  And Nintendogs does have an ingame save...

thanks a lot, that cleared it up quite a bit for me. the *.SAVs are there for every game, a few tell me the savedata is corrupt and whatnot though so i guess whatever those guys at the mall put on my card wasn't patched properly. i'll have a buddy of mine come over with his pc so that i might get this sorted out. but thanks for the heads up guys.

edit: i forgot, can i just patch the roms i already have again or should i get the clean rom from one of the fancy webpages/emule and patch these?
