I use a Dlink DI-524.  It was really cheap, only 20 dollars after a 10 dollar mail in rebate.  It's not the greatest router, but for the price it works fine.

Netgear DG834G.  Bought from Amazon, and came with a free WG511 adapter which I'll sell on eBay.

Had a wireless-less version of this router originally, but liked it, so bought the wireless version.  Linux based, interestingly (enough that there's a hack to enable a linux/telnet port to access it, if you want to.)  Seems happily compatible with the NDS. Built in firewall, which is easy to reconfigure and create your own rules. Lots of security options, including MAC filtering, and disable SSID broadcasting, so although you have to use WEP/802.11b you can still have a moderately secure-ish system.

Automatic IP address and settings (dhcp) work fine with Nintendo software, but not with homebrew; with homebrew you need to set everything manually.  Similarly, you can turn off SSID broadcasting when being used with Nintendo WFC, but SSID broadcast seems to need to be on for homebrew (DSLinux at least.)

Bye....

By Firmware, I mean the routers firmware.  The WRT54G is Linux based, and has a slew of different firmwares available beyond the standard Linksys one.

I use DD-WRT Firmware: Linky

List of WRT54G Firmwares: Here
