Quote from: "Cesta"I just received my GB Micro and I own a SD Supercard. Guess what? It doesn't work. I tried all kinds of methods to get it to work, but to no avail.
The only thing remaining is to use an earlier firmware, but unfortunately It wont allow that to happen. I get the message: "It isn't accurate update file. Please turn off GBA"  Any help will be appreciated in this matter. I do not own a SP so I need this to work.  Thanks all.

did it work in an "older" gba? like normal or sp?

Quote from: "loganmk"My Supercard is working properly in my NDS. I have updated the firmware, software, and played the GBA games on my NDS. However, they will not work in my micro. The micro will play MP3's and Video, but the games lock up after about 10-30 seconds. They are in FAT format. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this. I bought my card in June, but the Firmware is the latest release.

it is known that the newest firmware makes problems with not a small number of gba's. i left the old firmware that was on my supercard (dont know which, i only know i do not have the newest on it) and it worked perfectly in a friends gba sp

to summarize
i will get my US micro tomorrow and hell on earth will happen if my supercard sd does not work in the micro   i will report here as soon as i got to test it.

My supercard is a CF supercard that will not work.  I managed to get a game to run for almost a whole minute so far.  Still, it works fine using the gba function on the NDS.  I also had the older firmware yesterday, but that did not work either.  Should I go to an even older version than I had?  Like 1.3 or something?

loganmk

i dont have an older gba to try it on so i dont know if the SP would work. Sorry.

loganmk

ok, i have no idea what i was thinking with 1.3, i had a 1.4 kernel on it and i updated to the most recent one after the micro didn't work. Neither version was successful

well says on supercard.cn that supercards cf before august don't work

well cesta is the first person that says that supercard SD does not work.

i hope not to confirm that tomorrow

Hi Syphon.  I tried my SD Supercard in a SP and a DS and it does work on those. I just can't get it to work in my micro. I think it's a firmware issue, and when the new one is released, I'll be ok. Right now I am on 1.50 and I tried to get back to 1.44 to test if that works, but I get the error message: 'Isn't accurate update file. Please turn off GBA'.   I guess the next update (1.51) will fix this problem hopefully.

the next update won't be for gba. it only enables direct saving for ds games and does nothing about gba games.

Cesta

Oh, didn't know that. I will try to figure out somthing else then. Thanks!

I have the GBM SuperCard CF issue as well - same as that logan guy about.  It works fine on my DS and SP - but the micro is goofed andgames freeze up almost immediately.

So what now?  Is everyone 100% CERTAIN the SD version works on the GBM?  I was kind of getting tired of that CF card sticking out of the anyway - and I blew $99 on this micro to be my final home of the SuperCard.

-unrelated - is the SD version of the SuperCard limited to the same 2GB FAT 16 file system the CF version suffers from?  I would spring for the card and a 4GB SD in a heartbeat.

sd works fine for me i can only tell that many many times *g*

well i read somewhere that the biggest card you can put in is 1gig.... who the fuck needs 4 gig of gba games in his pocket?! :D

me.  I've filled my 1GB...
I thought the limit was 2GB--I may have to alter my xmas list if this is true.

I am always hoping for larger sizes as I'm planning to be carrying my GBM in my pocket for a very long time--another half decade or so.

I have a 2GB CF card and I always end up removing GBA games to put newer ones on.

I have it preloaded with all 798 NES and 203 SMS roms.. those total only 215 MB.  The remaining 1.7 gigs house 218 GBA games, and their related sc files.

It's not a matter of "who needs all that in their pocket," I just like to have the all-in-one.  I pop the SC into a Gameboy Player on the Gamecube at a friend's house - and we have an entire anthology playable on a TV.  So you say who needs 2GB.. I am more worried that 4GB won't be enough - especially if I can get DS, SNES and some others to work in the future.

Has anyone heard any news related to future SC software upgrades fixing this GBM problem?  From what I could tell on the official site.. it's more like "sorry.. hardware changes on the GBM make the 2 incompatible."

Y ou know, SD and CF cards are small (so small, I want to call them chips instead of cards). You could just carry a couple and swap them...

they're so small they get lost, meaning I'd need a case.  Small cases won't take the micro and supercard and would add bulk defeating the purpose of my micro anyway.

fat32 would be nice...  If we go to that I may consider a CF unit and either a large card or even a relatively durable microdrive.
