Crackling audio in DPG

For some reason I have some intermittent crackling going on in my left channel, whether on the DSL or headphones.  Happens with all video I convert.  Using BatchDPG with the following settings:

FPS: auto
Profile: High
Width: 256
Height: 192
Bitrate: 200
Max Bitrate: 300

Audio Bitrate: 64
Sample Rate: 32000
Mono: Yes
Normalize: Yes

Happens whether mono or stereo.

I have the latest version of moonshell and batchDPG v1.0.

Any ideas?

i get them sometimes 2, but i use the oter encoder.
maybe we set up the moonshell incorrectly?
cuz each time i boot up moonshell, it says i didn't install it correctly or something like that on the bottom screen.

It does that anyway, kind of a 'handy hints' in case bootup stalls.

Maybe somebody else will know, but this happens to me to and I think it's just the DS soundboard being rubbish.

I get the same problem with some of the MP3s I listen to while others might sound perfectly fine.

I suppose you changed the configuration in moonshell as they recommend in the batchdpg website (In global.ini - Dithering=0 GOPSkip=0 & AdaptiveDelayControl=0). I have had really good video with the audio & video like this:
FPS: auto
Width & Heigth autodetected
Profile: High
Bitrate: 256

Bitrate(Audio): 128
Samplerate: 32000
Mono: No
Normalize: No

Here's the deal, I ocassionaly get the same problem as you but try this, it works for me most of the time. Whenever you get the problem with the sound Pause (L) & UnPause (L) the video immediatly and the problem goes away if it doesn't try again.

SMH

Seems to be a Mono problem. Just don't use Mono and all will work perfect.
The crackling was driving me crazy.

No, as I said, I've used both mono and stereo and I have the same problem with both.  I'll try changing the ini files to what you suggest though, silverfloor.

I think maybe it has to do with the audio and video not being in perfect sync or something.  If I repeatedly hit pause, unpause, pause, unpause, etc, eventually the crackling disappears until the next file is started.

Altor

I tried adjusting the INI, but it doesn't appear to be helping.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

It's not such a big bother, really... but what's starting to be a pain now is that when I convert files to DPG and try to play them in moonshell, only like the first 20 or so seconds will play.  It behaves as if that's all there is to the file.  The files come out being regular size though (~40 mb)... any idea what the cause/solution might be?
