I went and got to play the demo yesterday at Bellevue, which is a suburb in Seattle, i can say that for one thing at least excite truck seems to be really fun to play after you get a little use to it. After about 5 or so minutes you tend to just naturally turn your hands left and right. One thing i wasnt so sure about was the response of the Wii remote at the start menu as well as getting back to the start menu in excite truck, it seemed really hard for the little cursor to show up and let me control it. I dont know weather it was just because of the gamestop Wii mote or a bug, but i just felt it was really bothering me. As of right now who knows though all i know is it was pretty fun to play, hope it stays like that.

YOU BASTARD! Im jealous. I went to Gamestop around here last weekend and they didn't have a kiosk set up. I read that the Wii mote cursor sensitivity is adjustable so I bet they don't have it adjusted on the kiosk. Was there any other games you could have played or was it just Excite Truck?

ARSEHOLE!!!!

I mean... how good was it? :D Sorry... I think all our reactions are typical of nintendo fans :P

Although I'm planning on burning off a copy of twilight princess for gamecube, I am WITHOUT A DOUBT buying a proper copy for wii. The other week nintendo were talking about expansions for it, much like oblivion on the 360. Now... expansions of what I know will be the best zelda game ever... *drools*

my overall reaction was pretty good with the Wii other then that one cursor not showing up problem. They also had that one Mii channel thing on the start menu but i didnt get to look at it for too long, i might go there again after school and take a picture of it or something. One thing i also noticed was how shaky the cursor looked, i dont know weather it was me or the Wii mote but it was shaking quite a bit at the menu screen.

Ever held a gun in real life, Monk?  I used to think Stormtroopers had bad aim until I tried to shoot from the hip! ;)  Anyway... my point is, if it's jittery that's probably a good sign really - it shows that it can detect even the slightest hand movement, even just the sort of twitching you get when you try to hold your hand still.

It's probably possible for a developer to smooth out that kind of movement too though, but it would probably come at the expense of a little cursor lag.

My local Gamestop has their demo kiosk set up. UNFORTUNATELY, every nerd in the fucking city found out and the line is long as hell everytime you go in there.

haha, well it seems like where i live not too many people like the Wii as much as the PS3 or the Xbox 360, no one was there when i tried it out, all i had to do was give them my ID and got to play with it.

Its the one in bell square right? I might check it out tomorrow then.

Normally I wouldn't cross post, but the message is just so long ...

This outlines my experiences with the Wii at the Nintendo Fusion Tour.  Needless to say, I'm stoked.

Thats not fair. all I get is a target with the wii in a plexiglass case and a tv that shows what the wii does.  But I did get to play the PS3.  A website said that gamestops are the only stores that will have store demos beause of the dangers of the remote

sonicwind

lol at monk there is no ghetto in bellevue.  Anyway I heard you need identification or something.

monk456l

well the "ghettoest" part of Bellevue atleast, people crack jokes about crossroads and lake hills alot.

and yeah you need ID, drivers license will do.
